Oral Assessment #2
Nombre: _________________________
Fecha: ___________________________
Today we will be assessing your speaking abilities in Spanish. Your grade will be out of 30 points
(Formative Assessments category), with 15 points coming from Grammar and Vocabulary Accuracy, and
15 points coming from Fluency and Fluidity.
The grading for this assessment is holistic in nature, meaning that there isn’t an automatic deduction in
points if/when individual errors are made. Instead, the entire speaking sample is assessed as a whole, by
comparing it to language descriptors. The descriptors will be used to award points (see back side). When
possible, the teacher will transcribe student errors.
The procedure is the following: You will answer four questions today – one from each of the groups
below. You will randomly select a number (1, 2, or 3) and that number will correspond to the question
number you receive from each group. For example, choosing #2 means receiving question #2 from all
three groups. The fourth question will be a follow-up to the information you have provided in your first
three answers
