Scholastic Book Order
Your child will be bringing home the first book orders of the year today. There are three this month,
you can order from one or the other or both. They will be due This Friday, September 4, 2015. All
orders that you place help to earn free books for our classroom library. Children who pick out their
own books are more engaged and motivated to read. With that in mind, consider at least buying your
child the $1 book each month. They are always high-quality literature at such a bargain price. Please
make checks payable to Scholastic Book Company (cash will also be accepted).

Your child is bringing home an offer for Highlights magazine
today. The company is offering you a year’s subscription for
only $25! But even if you choose not to subscribe to the
magazine, please take a moment to fill the form out, sign it,
check the “NO” box and send the form back to school.
No matter if you order or not, if we get 15 forms sent back
to class, we’ll receive a classroom subscription to Highlights
for the year! Now, that’s cool!
Thank you!

Homework folders
It is extremely important that your child
gets into the routine of bringing their

school daily. Please help them to
remember to do these things. This folder
will hold all the important paperwork your
child will bring back and forth to school.
Please put all notes and money on the
return side for me to see. Also, keep their
homework on the return side so it can be
checked daily.
SOCIAL STUDIES

UNIT ON COMMUNITIES. THE
CLASS WILL DISCUSS WHAT A

These words will be used in this week’s Main

conversation with your child throughout the week.
