Can’t Beat the Mosquitos?
They’re back! Did they ever leave? Mosquitos can’t bread without standing water. Clean
those gutters to keep the rain water flowing away from your home. Look for anything in
your yard that may be collecting water (Old flower pots, buckets, areas with poor drainage).
Outdoor fans will also help deter mosquitos by making it difficult for them to fly and
aerating the area from the attractive carbon dioxide your exhaling!
Mildew on Your Brick?
It’s a good time of year to clean that green or black mildew on your brick façade or siding.
Powerwashing can work but be careful not to damage your brick with prolonged spray from
the jet nozzle. Soap and water or a mold/mildew stain remover from the garden center will
also work with a little elbow grease and a scrubbing brush. If you have to break out the
ladder to get to those hard to reach places, consider hiring a professional. Always be safe!
