MASTER HERBOLOGY
& ADVANCED
NUTRITION
THE INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE OF NATURAL WELLNESS EDUCATION
THIS PROGRAM IS DESIGNED FOR YOUR SUCCESS
As you participate in the Master Herbology & Advanced Nutrition program, your learning experience has
several components that work together to ensure that you are not just educated, but you have learned through
your own hands-on experience to put that information into action. Our innovative e-Learning Modules allow
you, as the student, to personally interface
with your Clinical Advisor as you apply the
principles learned in each e-Learning
Module. These modules are the heart of
our program. They are taught by one of our
Adjunct Professors that is an expert on that
particular topic. They are specifically
chosen and taught based on body systems.
So many programs out there have a class or
module about one category of herbs and
during that class, you would be inundated
with hundreds of herbs and their use for
different parts of the body. We teach from
the opposite prospective. Instead of
teaching the herbs and then what
imbalance it works with, we teach you indepthly about each body system and
potential imbalances. During each module
on a given body system, we will talk at
length about the herbs and nutrients that
function in balancing that particular body
system. In this way, your mind is thinking
as a physician. In real practice you will not
be presented with an herb and asked what
problem it helps. Instead, you will be
presented with the problem and asked what
herb or nutrient will help. We present your
learning from that same standpoint so your
mind starts to think in this fashion to
prepare you for practical applications in a
real setting in your clinic, office, home or
disaster scenario. We find that having all
the herbs and nutrients taught from a body
system or function standpoint greatly
increases your ability to apply your learning
in a practical or clinical setting. See below
for a full list of e-Learning Modules and
how they work. Herbal LAB The Herbal LAB, as the name would imply,
is a section of specific e-Learning Modules
that relate to the hands-on process and use
of herbs and other nutrients. Along with
these specific e-Learning Modules, this
section includes a huge library of recipes
and how-to videos of everything from
making lotions and salves to raw food
cooking like making almond butter or
almond milk. You are required to complete
at least 3 of the Herbal LAB projects. You
will video or photo yourself making an
herbal salve for example. This will then be
emailed, along with a summary of what you
learned and how it turned out, to your LAB
Project Advisor. Just a few of the reasons that our programs are a cut above the rest
e-Learning Modules
Virtual Tutor Herbal And Nutrition Component
Fact Sheets, Cards & Videos
Learning to identify and recall
facts about herbs and nutrients is
essential to your ability to not just
hang a certification on your wall,
but to truly function successfully
as a practitioner or Master
Herbalist. This section of the
program has a library of single
herb and single nutrient teaching
aids. A page that is dedicated to
capsicum, for example, might have
a short video presentation about
the herb, a downloadable
monogram fact sheet that you print
off for your reference binder and a
printable flash card for you to add
to your "flash card study box". This
page will likely also include some
details about imbalances that
commonly link to the use of this
herb. Case Study
Upon completion of the course
work, you will be emailed 3
hypothetical case files that are
randomly assigned. Each
practicum case is a complete,
wellness history for you to review
and then create a comprehensive
outline of suggested changes. Your
Clinical Advisor will assist you
with this cases study. To further
demonstrate your ability to apply
what your have learned, you will
also submit 2 cases studies of real
people that you have personally
assisted over the course of 3
months. You will document their
w e l l n e s s h i s t o r y, y o u r
recommendations, their
compliance and their outcome. By
the completion of the Master
Herbology & Advanced Nutrition
program, students generally find
this step very easy as they have
become competent in assisting
others as a Master Herbalist. Master's Project Successful completion of the
Master Herbology & Advanced
Nutrition program includes the
selection and successful
accomplishment of one of the
following projects. First, you
submit your choice in writing to
the Curriculum Advisory Board.
Once your project has been
approved, you will be assigned a
Project Advisor (Advisor depends
on the nature and topic of your
project). This Advisor will guide
you in planning and implementing
your project. Once your project is
completed, then you provide the
necessary documentation, pictures
or videos demonstrating the
completion of your Master's
Project. Approved project options
include:
1) Horticulture Project - Grow,
harvest and process 3 different
herbs 2) Wildcrafting Project - Research
and identify 7 local wild herbs and
harvest and process 3 of them
3) Community Action Project Organize and implement an
educational outreach 4) Research Paper - 20 pages, not
including the bibliography, on an
approved topic 5) Self Determined Project Students can submit written
proposals of an equivalent project
idea. Selection depends on the
proposed project's ability to meet
the same criteria of approved
project ideas. We hope that you can see that the entire purpose of every step of this program is designed to take you from
where you are and walk you through the sometimes uncomfortable process of becoming a competent
practitioner. Whether you are just considering an herbal and nutritional education for the first time or you
have a library of books on the topic, what we provide is something that no book or manual can ever do. We
give you a path to walk, with advisors and professors to guide you. By the time you are finishing your last elearning Modules, the process of assessing imbalances and putting together a complete comprehensive plan
of nutritional, eating, herbal, homeopathic and lifestyle changes will be very comfortable and familiar to
you. We do this by taking you one step at a time through each area of wellness and constantly checking your
ability to apply it with your Clinical Advisor. In short, we take you by the hand and walk you down the path
until you will one day realize that you are truly ready to handle whatever health challenges might walk into
your home, office, clinic or to aid in a disaster. WHAT REAL STUDENTS SAY
- Marlene I must confess that coming into this class I was
skeptical, for me an M.D. trying to get more into
natural medicine. . . I have been very impressed so
far with the classes. The instructors are wonderful
and the lectures are very informative and enjoyable.
I have learned many things that are entirely new to
me, and in certain areas that I thought I knew quite
a bit about I have had the information "filled
out" making it much easier to understand than in
previous classes I have taken.
- Dr. Mark, MD
I have enjoyed every minute of my education
through the Int'l Institute of Natural Wellness
Education. The doctors and teachers are some of the
most inspirational & educated people I've ever met.
-Tori
I must say that the information I have received from
your wellness seminars has been way beyond my
expectations. I have been a student of nutrition for
many years but I learned many new facts and
figures. Perhaps the best part of the lectures is that
each subject supports all of the others. I would
highly recommend them to anyone regardless of
their age, status or goals. Every mother, caregiver, or
professional could benefit from the information and
instruction. If I achieve nothing but improving my
own individual health it will have been worth the
money and effort in attending.
- JoAnne My life has been transformed from the experience of
participating in this program. What is so invigorating
is the change that occurs for those who truly
immerse themselves in the program. . . It is awesome
and I am genuinely enjoying my experience.
- Dr. Eric, Ph.D.
My wife and I are enjoying and benefiting from this
program. We have backgrounds in natural healing
and want to keep learning, always. . . This experience
has giving us an opportunity to meet with likeminded students while giving us critical information,
ideas, options and updates on natural healing
choices. We are able to ask all the questions we need
to further help our process of always learning. -Tom These are just a few excerpts from real letters we receive on a regular basis from students in all walks of life
This has been amazing! Even though I have been on
the "holistic" path for many years, I have learned
many more truths that I needed to learn to enrich
what I am presently doing. Very inspiring on
several levels. I feel very blessed to have attended.
Most sincerely with much gratitude.
THE E-LEARNING MODULE
DIFFERENCE - 4 STEPS
Unlike many other programs out there, we are not bound by an outdated book or by just having one or two
people teaching the whole program. One of the many things that sets us apart here at the Int'l Institute of
Natural Wellness Education is that our primary educational mechanism is our innovative, on-demand eLearning Modules. Each module can be completed in average of 1.5 - 2 hours. For those spreading this
program out over 18 months, they are an average of one module a week. These modules are taught by
dozens of different doctors, scientists and other professionals. Each module is split into 4 steps:
1) Downloadable Printed Booklets - They cover all the lecture material and associated handouts to be
used in practice. Each of these printed booklets provide you a place to take notes during the lecture. These
booklets are designed to be placed in designated 3 ring binders so that at the completion of the program you
have a complete library of resource materials that you completely understand and contains your notes. 2) Video Presentation - The core of the e-Learning Modules are the recorded video presentations that last
from 45 minutes to 2 hours. These videos are presented by experts from all over the wold. This means that
we are able to draw on experts from around the globe. As soon as there is a breakthrough in any field of
natural wellness it can immediately be incorporated into our e-Learning Modules by our team of Adjunct
Professors that are individual leaders and experts in their own field of expertise.
3) Quiz - Following the video presentation, you will then take a short (normally 10 question) quiz. This quiz
is designed to help you confirm that you have a firm grasp on the material that was presented in the booklet
and video presentation. Upon submitting your quiz, you will immediately be emailed the results. Receiving
immediate feedback on your quiz score is critically important because it allows you to make notes in your
booklet and re-watch parts of the presentation as needed to ensure that you understand the principle that is
being taught. So often students don't get this valuable feedback for days or weeks and by the time they receive
their quiz results they have already shifted their mindset onto another principle. We find that this immediate
feedback is key in being able to effectively apply the principle being learned.
4) Clinical Practicum - Perhaps the most innovative part of our e-Learning Module is this step. The Clinical
Practicum is a hypothetical example of a wellness situation that applies to the principle that was taught. The
student then types a recommendation for this clinical practicum. This essay style answer is sent directly to
your Clinical Advisor. Your Clinical Advisor is a Doctor or professional Master Herbalist that will be working
with you for the entire length of the program. The purpose of this piece of the program is not to test you more,
or stress you out, or to be graded. Unlike reading a book or participating in a traditional distance learning
program, this practicum helps shift your mind into applying the principle taught in the e-Learning Module.
Your Clinical Advisor really becomes your mentor and will email back any additions, changes or suggestions
to the recommendations that you provide. It is not uncommon for your Clinical Advisor to attach additional
information and resources when he/she replies to your essay answer. We strongly recommend that you print
off these reply emails and put them in your booklet. This is really where the rubber meets the road. This is
why our Master Herbalist & Advanced Nutrition graduates don't merely understand many, many principles.
They truly understand what to do, when to do it and how to assess it. This practicum interaction with your Clinical Advisor has another very innovative and useful purpose. Our
students range greatly in their reason for participating in the Master Herbology & Advanced Nutrition
program. We carefully assign Clinical Advisors that meet the educational goals of the students. For
example, a student might be very comfortable with a particular line of herbal or nutritional supplements. By
assigning a Clinical Advisor that is greatly experienced with that line of supplements means that not only will
the Clinical Advisor reply back to the students practicum submission with useful feedback, but the Advisor
can also attached associated handouts and tools that apply to the line of supplements they are using.
Another example is someone that is taking this program because of their interest in being self-reliant. Their
Clinical Advisor will attach handouts and feedback on preparedness, bush medicine, self-reliance and do-it
yourself information. In this way, our Master Herbology & Advanced Nutrition program is really custom
designed to fit your reason for taking this program. "One of the biggest
tragedies of human
civilization is the
precedents of chemical
therapy over nutrition.
It is a substitution of
artificial therapy over
natural, of poison over
food, in which we are
feeding people poisons
trying to correct the
reactions of
starvation." Dr. Royal Lee - January 12, 1951
