Welcome to the 2013
Sand Point Elementary PTA Auction
Dear Sand Point Elementary Families and Friends,
On behalf of the Sand Point Elementary PTA Auction Committee,
welcome to the first ever auction! Tonight will be an opportunity to
build our school community, all while coming together to support
our students, teachers and staff who make the learning experience
for all students at our school truly exceptional.
Looking at how far the school has come in just three short years is
truly remarkable. Step inside those doors and you know that great
things are happening in our school. We really are NE Seattle’s best
kept secret. Money raised from this evening will provide funding for
a part-time art teacher, as well as support many other enrichment
programs for our students. Every child at our school will benefit
from the money you donate tonight.
This evening is possible due to the incredible efforts of the 2013
Auction Committee, as well as the entire school community. Please
take a moment to look over the list of volunteers in this catalog and
thank them when you see them this evening. They are amazing.
But the most important element of tonight’s success is YOU. Please
bid generously and often this evening. The auction committee has
procured a lot of great items, from one-of-a-kind student art
projects, to fabulous travel destinations, to memorable outings with
favorite teachers.
Have a wonderful time tonight. Talk, laugh, eat, drink, and bid. We
are thrilled to have you here! Thank you for supporting Sand Point
Elementary.
Best,
Megan Sun McIntosh

Wow! This tree stump allows you to bring the forest inside your home. Why not

further pungent intrigue. The palate impression here manages adroitly to balance
waxy texture, zesty piquancy, and infectious juiciness. 92 points.

Champagne and Cheese Tasting for Six Adults
Lily Bollinger said, "I only drink champagne when I'm happy and when I'm sad.
Sometimes I drink it when I'm alone. When I have company, I consider it obligatory.
I trifle with it if I am not hungry and drink it when I am. Otherwise I never touch
it—unless I'm thirsty.” If you think this statement can only get better with the
addition of the noun “cheese” and the verb “eat,” then this party, hosted by Chris
and Dawn Young, is for you! You will sample at least four bottles of different
bubblies and taste some fantastic cheeses, including an 8lb “Colossal Cut” of

1998 Andrew Will Cabernet Sauvignon
This is a wine you should salt away in your cellar for a few years. It is a big, intense
Cabernet that needs time to settle down and let the tannins soften. According to
Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Moderately saturated ruby-red.
Roasted aromas of smoke, tobacco, earth, and milk chocolate; slight suggestion of
raisin. Supple entry, then large-scaled and rich, but a bit lacking in verve. Unusually
heavy, and not especially fruit-driven for a wine from this cellar, though the material
is undeniably impressive. Finishes with big, tongue-dusting tannins and an edge of
acidity." According to Robert Parker: "The medium to dark ruby-colored 1998
Cabernet Sauvignon Seven Hills has a cherry syrup, violet, rose, and perfumescented nose. Its firm, flavorful character reveals peppery dark berries and tangy
black cherries.

Enjoy a lively evening of wine tasting with five of your friends and the charming
Gordon of University Wines. Made with Chardonnay grapes, white Burgundy is a
wonderful wine; powerful and rich, with complex fruit flavors and notes of earth
and minerals. Those simply labeled Bourgogne Blanc are crisp and lively, with apple
and lemon flavors. Both are enjoyable on their own or with food. Burgundy wine
(French: Bourgogne or vin de Bourgogne) is wine made in the Burgundy region of
eastern France in the valleys and slopes west of the Saône River, a tributary of the
Rhône. This package comes to you with a bottle ready to enjoy after the auction.
