Appointment of Minutes Secretary: Charlotte Pezaro nominated by Peta Jackson Seconded: Tony Wright Appointment accepted. 2. Minutes from previous AGM Jackie Mergard requested that her name be added to the attendance for 2011 Minutes as she was present. Amanda Nuell moved that the 2011 STAQ AGM Minutes be accepted with this change. Seconded: Angela Harper Minutes accepted. 3. Annual President Report by Peta Jackson Peta Jackson moved that the report be accepted. Seconded: Mary Rowland President’s Annual Report accepted. 4. Financial Report by Treasurer Angela Harper Angela Harper moved that the treasurer’s report be accepted. Seconded: Mandy Timmers Financial Report accepted. Science Teachers’ Association of Queensland 5. Auditor’s report presented by Angela Harper Angela Harper moved that the Auditor’s report be accepted. Seconded: Rod Fleming Auditor’s Report accepted. 5. Appointment of Auditor Angela Harper moved that the immediate past Auditor, Peter Geraghty of Geraghty Accountants be appointed as Auditor for the coming financial year. Seconded: Grant Darnell Appointment of Auditor confirmed. 6. Election of Executive Officers and Council Members Mary Rowland agreed to run the meeting as Peta Jackson steps down as chair of the meeting and STAQ President. Mary Rowland recognises the Executive for the work achieved this year, particularly the development of the website. Executive Officers: President – Peta Jackson re-elected as President (uncontested) Vice President – Amanda Nuell re-elected as Vice President (uncontested) Vice President – Charlotte Pezaro elected as Vice President (uncontested) Secretary – Angela Harper elected as Secretary (uncontested) Treasurer – Tony Wright elected as Treasurer (uncontested) Registrar – Grant Darnell elected as Registrar (uncontested) Mary Rowland stepped down from the role of chairperson. Peta Jackson resumed the role. Councillor nominations: Ross Bradford, Anne Brant, Sarah Chapman, Jasmyn Daniels, Professor John Elfick, Deanne Heffner, Nicole Hinton, Louise Hoey, Adam Hooper, Susan Kennedy Smith, Jackie Mergard, Mary Rafter, Mary Rowland, Meg Saunderson, Julia Whittaker Grant Darnell moved that all Council nominations be accepted. Seconded: Mandy Timmers Motion carried. 7. Motions Motion 1: to reduce the membership fees of members who nominate to receive the online journal only. Membership fees will be as follows: Individual members: Primary/Early Childhood: $95.00 Primary/Early Childhood (online journal only): $79.00 Secondary/Tertiary/Others: $115.00 Secondary/Tertiary/Others (online journal only): $99.00 Full-time Student: $77.00 Science Teachers’ Association of Queensland Full-time Student (online journal only): $61.00 Retiree: $77.00 Retiree (online journal only): $61.00 Institutional members: Primary/Early Childhood Schools and Centres: $150.00 Primary/Early Childhood Schools and Centres (online journal only): $134.00 Secondary Schools: $190.00 Secondary Schools (online journal only): $174.00 Tertiary Institutions, Education Centres and other organisations: $260.00 Tertiary Institutions, Education Centres and other organisations (online journal only): $244.00 Mary Rowland moved that this motion be carried. Seconded: Deanne Haffner Motion carried. Motion 2: to change the indexation of annual membership fees from monthly to quarterly. First quarter fees will be 100% of the full membership fees. Second quarter fees will be 75% of the full membership fees. Third quarter fees will be 50% of the full membership fees. Final quarter fees will be 25% of the full membership fees. Amanda Nuell moved that this motion be carried. Seconded: Jackie Mergard Motion carried. 8. General business Mary Rowland reiterates her gratitude to the Executive for the hard work in 2012. 9.
