For the first time in the 63-year history of the Missouri wrestling program, five Tigers were awarded All-American honors at the 2009 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships held at the Scottrade
Center in St. Louis, Mo. In prior years, the most All-Americans Missouri had ever secured in a single campaign was three. In 2010, senior Maxwell Askren closed out his illustrious career by claiming his
first-ever national championship, the fourth individual title in program history.
