RACE 1: Gunnedah Services & Bowling Club – Narrabri RSL Madiden Plate 1100m:
Maxwells Creek was slow to begin. Passing the 800m Jack’s the Kiss overraced with its head
up when crowded for room by Speedy Squib. In the incident Demtings, which was following,
had to be checked to avoid the heels of Jack’s the Kiss. M Pagent (Speedy Squib) was
reprimanded and advised that he should have made a greater effort to relieve the pressure to
the runners to his inside. Magic Poet hung in when placed under pressure over the concluding
stages.
RACE 2: Bingara RSL – Glen Innes Services Club Maiden Handicap 1400m:
Ballading jumped awkwardly shifted in and crowded Go Dragon. Sterling Sand and She
Dreams were slow to begin. Ocean Peril overraced during the early stages and passing the
800m had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Em Double You Be. When questioned
regarding the performance of Wylinga, Apprentice K Furness stated that Wylinga was slow to
begin and felt awkward in its stride in early stages. She added that after making use of her
mount early to make contact with the field elected to ride for luck but was held up for clear
running and was unable to be fully tested at any stage over the concluding stages. A post-race
veterinary examination of Wylinga failed to reveal any abnormalities.
RACE 3: Wests Entertainment Group – Inverell RSM Country Class 1 1900m:
Bite Me and Bernaseki were both withdrawn at 8.58am after stewards deemed the barrier
position was unsafe for a capacity field. Scarlet Dane underwent a pre-race examination from
the clubs veterinary officer and was found to be lame in the off hind. On Veterinary advice
Scarlet Dane was withdrawn at 2.02pm. When correct weight was declared it was ordered that
all bets made on Scarlet Dane be refunded in full and with regard to betting with bookmakers,
all successful wagers placed prior to 2.02pm, be subject to the following deduction on the face
value of the betting ticket:
1st Duelling Goddess – 3 cents Win & 3 cents Place
2nd Sav Blanc Babe – 3 cents Place
3rd Enley – 4 cents Place
Trainer L Berger was advised that Scarlet Dane would be required to pass a full veterinary
examination prior to racing. Spirit of Speed overraced during the early stages and passing the
winning post on the first occasion raced with its head up.

RACE 4: Armidale Services F&M Benchmark 55 Handicap 1100m:
Sahara Chill underwent a pre-race examination from the clubs veterinary office after becoming
fractious in the barriers. On Veterinary advice Sahara Chill was withdrawn at 2.37pm. When
correct weight was declared it was ordered that all bets made on Sahara Chill be refunded in
full and with regard to betting with bookmakers, all successful wagers placed prior to 2.37pm, be
subject to the following deduction on the face value of the betting ticket:
1st Charlee Rose – 16 cents Win & 14 cents Place
2nd Idle Shiver – 15 cents Place
3rd Rumjar – 16 cents Place
Trainer S Grills was advised, Sahara Chill would be required to pass an official barrier trial
prior to racing. Queen of Thegrange and Make Me Some was slow to begin.
RACE 5: Armidale & Uralla Bowlo’s C,G&E Benchmark 55 Hadicap 1100m:
Maximoo was slow to begin.
RACE 6: Clubs NSW Benchmark 60 Handicap 1400m:
Tellzcay and Three Lucky Eights were slow to begin.
RACE 7: Walgett RSL & Motel Class 2 Plate 1300m:
Hakakuna and Impella were slow to begin. Passing the 1100m Yambaah shifted in, despite
the efforts of its rider, crowding Hilltop in onto Jade Martin which was crowded in onto
Beached As which had to be checked. In the incident Grand Bandito, which was following,
had to be shifted out abruptly to avoid the heels of Beached As. Passing the 250m Havelock
Express had to be steadied when disappointed for a narrow run between Hilltop and Jade
Mountain.
