Preparation required: Print off the bingo cards, one card per pupil. The property bingo cards are available A5 size, two cards per A4 page. The bingo card is available in several versions, the only difference being the arrangement of the eight property words in the grid. This is to encourage pupils to read the words rather than copying their neighbour. You may like to use different coloured card to print each version. Print off one set of clues and cut the page so that each clue and word is on a separate strip. This resource can be reused many times if the cards and clues are laminated. Ensure that pupils use water soluble marker pens to cross off the words and wipe the cards clean when finished. Instructions 1. Distribute the bingo cards between the pupils. Ensure the cards are mixed so adjacent pupils don’t get the same arrangement of words on their card. 2. Explain that a statement will be read out which is a description of the property of a material. 3. If they know which word is being described, they must put their hand up to give their answer when asked. The clue reader should repeat the answer given to ensure that all pupils have heard and agreed the answer. The pupils cross off the word on their bingo card before the next clue is read out. 4. When a pupil has crossed off all the words on their card they can shout out an appropriate word such as “Materials!” 5. Since all the cards are the same, the pupils should all get a full house at the same time! © Global Renewables Lancashire Operations Limited
