ABOUT THE COFFE ORIGIN Cusco, often spelled Cuzco is a city in southeastern Peru, near the Urubamba Valley of the Andes mountain range. It is the capital of the Cusco Region as well as the Cusco Province. Cusco has a subtropical highland climate, which is generally dry and temperate, with two defined seasons. The dry season lasts from April to October, with abundant sunshine, and occasional nighttime freezes: July is the coolest month with an average of 49.3 °F. The wet season lasts from November to March, with night frost less common: November averages 56.1 °F. Although frost and hail are common, snow is virtually unheard of. GROWER Silvestre Tello Oscco Palmapampa FARM FACTS ORIGIN: CUSCO ALTITUDE: 2095 meters COORDINATES: 0.000000 / 0.000000 When Silvestre married Felipa his wife, the community gave the land where he would begin his journey on the cultivation of coffee. He at that point named the area Palmapampa. Being difficult to get to their farm due to the terrain the family dedicated a lot of work and time. The only way to get there is by mule since there is no road. The farm is surrounded by wild orchids, pacay trees and other native plants. Coffee is the only source of income for the family, so they choose to produce specialty coffee since it gives them the opportunity to improve conditions for their children to study.
