CCSHA 2017 Show program - Clydesdale Cross Sport Horse

Clydesdale Cross
Sport Horse Association
2017 ANNUAL SHOW
Date:
Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd April 2017
Venue:
Tatura Park – Eastern Oval grassed area
Hastie Street, Tatura, VIC, 3626
Start Time:
9:00 am
The CCSHA invites all Clydesdale Cross Sport Horse members to take part in our 2017 Annual Show.
Most of our members will know this event as our annual Gymkhana; however we have decided to give the program a ‘make-over’, so
why not go with a new name as well! The CCSHA Annual Show is two fun filled days of celebrating the versatility and diversity of the
Clydesdale Cross. Plaiting, jackets and feather are optional. Feel free to go all out in your turnout gear or bring your horse with mane,
tail and feather flying.
This is a fantastic opportunity to get out and about with your Clydie Cross, so why not come along, join in the FUN and make a
weekend of it! Catering will be available for most meals and camping and stabling are offered at very reasonable rates.
We will be hosting a ring for the competitive Show Riders amongst you, an intermediate ring for those who only have a ‘dabble’ every
now and then and a fun ring for kids and beginners! We have included a range of young stock classes, so it is a great time to show off
your babies and you can also challenge your training skills in the long reining classes and on our versatility course.
Ribbons will be awarded to 6th place depending on the size/popularity of the class and special merit prizes will be awarded by Judges
and Club officials. High Point Awards are calculated for each horse and rider combination and will be awarded at the end of each day,
as well as at the end of the event.
Riders/Competitors MUST be current financial members of the CCSHA and horses MUST be registered in either the adult / permanent
registers or recorded as foals.
Pre-entries are charged at $5.00 per class or you can purchase a Show Pass.
Show Passes entitle you to enter ONE (1) horse in an unlimited number of classes for a set fee.
1 Day Show Pass $40
2 Day Show Pass $70
Young Stock $30
Classes can also be paid for on the day at a cost of $8.00 per class, 1 Day Show Pass $50, 2 Day Show
Pass $80, Young Stock Show Pass $40
Pre-entries are welcomed until Friday 24th March 2017
Enquiries: Kelly Hamblin ([email protected] OR 0427 328 300)
Entries: Post to PO Box 626, BENALLA, VIC, 3672 or email [email protected]
Please Note: Program is subject to change and classes may be combined or divided at the Judge’s / Committee’s discretion.

RING DESCRIPTIONS
The following information is designed to assist you to select the most appropriate ring for you and your horse to compete in. We are lucky to have
CCSHA members from extremely diverse backgrounds and with a wide range of experience, so we understand that competitors do not always fit
perfectly into categories.
If you are square peg who is trying to squeeze into one of our round holes, we ask that you consider the fairest option and the one that provides you
with the most potential to further your skills. For example: if you are on the border line of the beginner and intermediate groups, you may want to
consider:
Will l learn anything new?
Will my horse learn anything new?
Will my level of experience be similar to the other people in my ring?
The CCSHA reserve the right to ask a competitor to move to an alternate ring if deemed necessary by the Judge and/or Event Officials

Panty Parade
37c – BENDING POLES: Rider’s must weave their horses through a set of flags / cones without knocking any over. Easy when you have a zippy
little games pony but not so easy when you are driving the equivalent of a Mack Truck!
38c – BROOM POLO: Rider’s will use a straw broom to push a ball to the end of the arena, around a cone and back to their starting position. Riders
must stay in their own lane and riding on the brooms is not permitted (sorry ladies)
39c – RIBBON PAIRS: Working in pairs, riders must hold a length of ribbon between their horses while they perform a range of tasks; this may
include walk, trot, halt, back up, turn corners, etc. Pairs are eliminated when a team member lets go of the ribbon and the last pair left will be
declared the winners.

riders / handlers are competing more than one horse, they must ensure that they swap numbers as they swap mounts. To avoid confusion, we
recommend that you display your number on your horse, rather than the rider / handler
All ridden mounts must be bitted, no bitless bridles or halters will be allowed in the ridden classes. This is for insurance reasons
No horses under the age of 3 years will be allowed to be ridden, however you are welcome to participate in the Young Stock and Long Rein classes

part of the horse on both sides to identify to others that the horse is a stallion
Colts / stallions must be under effective control AT ALL TIMES. Any colt / stallion that presents a danger to other horses or people, will be disqualified
from the Event and may be asked to leave the premises
All stallions must be suitably restrained while at floats. They may be double tied (with a suitable headstall, neck collar and 2 lead ropes), hobbled and tied
up or contained in a stable
