REQUEST FOR QUOTATION
The Clearwater Resource Conservation and Development Council, on behalf of the
Clearwater Basin Collaborative (CBC), is seeking Helicopter Services for Elk Capture and
Transport.
Helicopter service will capture and recapture a total of approximately 75 adult female
elk distributed across four study areas in the Clearwater River Basin, Idaho. Most
animals will be captured via darting with immobilizing drugs. Contractor will transport
the private contractor and/or agency personnel to the capture site to process animals.
Alternatively, contractor may transport elk to a base station for processing by a private
contractor and/or agency personnel. Helicopter crews may need to fit radio collars and
collect blood, DNA, and other biological samples from elk as needed. A fixed-wing may
be contracted separately by CBC and may be used to decrease helicopter search time
(in some areas) for cow elk. Capture operation to be conducted December 8 – 16,
2015.
Qualified Contractors must have prior experience darting ungulates in mountainous
terrain. Qualified contractors are asked to complete and submit the attached Request
for Quotation (RFQ) form and Helicopter and Pilot Qualifications statement.
Completed forms must be received by email at the address listed on the RFQ by 5:00
p.m. PST, September 4, 2015 to qualify for consideration.
