WORD
Had any well-meaning friends come to you and said
that God won’t give you more than you can handle? Or
maybe you told that to some of your friends.
The truth is, God never said that! In fact, Moses, with
over a million Isra, elites who were set free by Pharoah,
when facing the Red Sea and cornered by the Egyptian
chariots, faced a situation they could not handle! And
the list goes on!
1Cor. 10:13 says “God is faithful; he will not let you be
tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are
tempted, he will also provide a way out.”
This verse was misconstrued to say that God will not
give you a burden that you can’t handle. This verse was
referring to “temptation”.
TRUTH: God does give us challenges more than we
can handle.
Here are some valuable lessons we can learn from this:
1. God allows you to have more than you can
handle so you will depend on His presence.
When things are good, people tend to forget God. The
Israelites, during tough times depended on Him daily.
And when things were getting comfortable, they started
worshipping other gods by building a calf. When things
got rocky again, they called on God!
“In my distress, I called to the Lord, and He answered
me… When my life was ebbing away, I remembered
you, Lord, and my prayer rose to you”
Jonah 2:2,7
Never let the presence of the cause you to doubt the
presence of God! Call on Him!
“The Lord is near to all who call on His name, to all who
call on Him in truth.”
Psalm 145:18
Have you ever called on God when facing impossible
situations? Tell us about it.

2. God allows you to have more than you can
handle so you will experience His power.
The apostle Paul experienced demonic attacks from the
messenger of Satan calling it a “thorn on his flesh”.
Three times he pleaded with God to take it away from
him.
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my
power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will
boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that
Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s
sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in
persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I
am strong.
2 Cor. 12: 9-10
Have you experienced God’s power in your life? What
happened?

3. God allows you to have more than you can
handle, so when you experience His power, He
will have the glory.
When we are able to do it on our own strength, we
begin to boast and brag. But when we can’t handle the
situation, and God pulls through for us, He gets the
glory.
“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness…
And we know that in all things God works for the good
of those who love Him, who have been called according
to His purpose.”
Rom. 8:26,28
