BROWARD RANKED 10TH IN LATEST NJCAA REGION 8 COACHES’ POLL Bob Starkman Ken Kelly David Ulak Ryan Williams Rohaan Adderley Broward is ranked 10th in the latest NJCAA Region 8 Coaches’ Poll (Nov. 8). The Seahawks received votes in the preseason rankings released on Oct. 25. Nov. 1 - Broward 106 Florida National University (Junior Varsity) 70 Adam Traore posted a double-double (32 points, 20 rebounds) to lead the Seahawks to a season opening victory over the Conquistadors at A. Hugh Adams Central Campus. Traore also made three steals and one blocked shot. Justin Goode produced 21 points, hitting 6 of 7 field goals, 3 of 4 three pointers and 6 of 7 free throws. Jaron Cornish contributed 16 points, six assists, five rebounds and three steals. Trevon White registered 13 points, four rebounds and one steal. Broward shot 57 percent (35 of 62) from the floor. Nov. 4 - Broward 134 Red Devils Academy 56 Adam Traore and Justin Goode each scored 32 points to help the Seahawks to a decisive win during the Palm Beach State College Classic at Lake Worth. Traore also grabbed 17 rebounds, made seven steals, dished-out five assists and blocked two shots. Goode contributed five rebounds, five assists and one steal. Trevon White tallied 18 points, six rebounds, five assists and one steal. Jaron Cornish posted 16 points, six assists, six steals, five rebounds and one block. Luis Escobar registered 11 points, two steals and one assist. Broward led 76-23 at halftime. Nov. 5 - Broward 73 Game Changers Academy 56 Adam Traore posted a double-double (18 points, 17 rebounds) to help the Seahawks finish 2-0 at the Palm Beach State College Classic. Traore also made four steals, one assist and one block. Oswald Parker poured in 14 points and Justin Goode added nine. Jaron Cornish tallied team-highs in assists (six) and blocks (four). Nov. 9 - Florida SouthWestern State College Adam Traore scored 27 points and Jaron Cornish added 19, but the Seahawks fell to the Buccaneers at Davie. Oswald Parker posted a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Traore also produced seven rebounds, two steals and one assist. Cornish contributed three assists, three steals and one blocked shot. Shane Pearley poured in eight points. Denzel Jenoure registered six points, six rebounds and one block.
