Ⅰ、Software Installation

3) After the tool is installed, a “MP3 Player Utilities 3.57” program group will be
created in Start— Program menu.
Ⅱ、User Software
1 )AMV Convert Tool
1.How to convert AMV
This tool is applied to convert video and audio files into files with AMV format which
can be played in the MP3 Player of this company. The supported formats of video files
include:
1) AVI format files with extended-name of avi;
2) Windows Media format files with extended-name of asf and wmv;
3) MPEG1 format files with extended-name of mpg and mpeg;
4) Realplay format files with extended-name of rm;
5) QuickTime format files with extended-name of mov;
6) MPEG2 format files with extended-name of vob;
Applicable OS: Windows98, Windows Me, Windows2000 and Windows XP.
Windows Media Player shall be upgraded to a version of 9.0 or above; DirectX shall
be a version of 9.0 or above.

2. Software Installation
The installation of AMV Convert Tool is convenient, easy and quick, and the
operations are as follows:
2.1 Power the PC on, after entering Windows system, insert the Tool Installation CD
into the CD-Rom and the system will run the installation program automatically. Click
“Next”button according to prompts, and when it prompts that installation has been
finished, click “Close”button to finish installation;
2.2 In case that the PC has no auto run function, it shall be installed manually;
2.2.1 Double click Setup.exe in the root directory of CD to start installation wizard;
2.2.2 Click “Next”button according to prompts and when it prompts the installation has
been finished, click “Close”button to finish installation;
After the tool is installed, a “MP3 Player Utilities 3.57”program group will be created in
Start— Program menu, in which, “AMV Convert Tool”is the convert tool and “AMV
Player”is the player to play the AMV files converted by the convert tool.
3. Run the Software
3.1 Introduction to buttons
To run the software, you can click Start button, select Program menu, and select “MP3
Player Utilities”— “AMV Convert Tool”to open the tool interface, as shown in following
figure:
When using this tool, if the button is effective, please stop the mouse on the button for
1-2 seconds and the name of button will be displayed.
3.2 Add video files
When the software is in operation, click File Adding button
in the right column
of “Input file”to add video files (files to be converted, unless otherwise specified, all
video files hereinafter shall refer to files to be converted), click the button as shown in
following figure:

In the pop-up video file path interface, click the small button
on the right in “File
type”to select a suitable file type. After one or more video files are correctly selected,
click “Open”button and the interface will show as the following figure (all selected
types of file in following figure are only for your reference):
After the file is added, the path of the video file will be displayed in “Input file”column
of the convert tool and the related information of the added file, such as check box, file
name and path, status, file time length, etc., will be displayed in the status column as
shown in following figure:
3.3 Play video files
This convert tool has the function to play video files, provided that corresponding

decoder has been installed. Please refer to “Precautions”below.
Click a single video file in the status column, Start playing button will become effective,
then click Play button to start playing, as shown in following figure:
When video file playing is started, the playing progress will be displayed in the playing
progress column and the status of the video file in status column will change from
“unprocessed”into “successful”; time length of the file will change from “0:00”into the
actual time length of the file, “4:30”; the “Stop”and “Pause”buttons in tool interface will
also become effective, click these two buttons to stop or pause playing.
Note: when the status of the video file changes from “unprocessed” into
“successful”, it means the decoder for such a type of file has been installed in the PC
and the tool can play video files properly. The conversion can be conducted after
playing is stopped. To be sure, the conversion can also be conducted before the video
file is played. However, to ensure successful conversion, it is recommended that the
users start conversion after they confirm the files can be played.
4. File Conversion
4.1 Select files to be converted
In the status column, there are a check box and a S/N on the left side of the name of
each video file. As defaulted, the check box of a newly added video file will be ticked.
The check box is used to select several video files for continuous conversion. If the
check box is not ticked, the conversion is cancelled and the file won’
t be converted.
4.1.1 Selection and cancellation of video files
4.1.1.1 Click the check box direct to select or cancel the video file for
conversion.
4.1.1.2 Besides clicking the check box directly, you can also click “Select”or
“Cancel”in right click menu of the video file to select or cancel, as show in following
figure:

4.1.2 Deletion of video files
If you want to delete some video files among the added ones, right click the single or
several video files and select “Delete”, the file(s) will be deleted from the list.
4.2 Storage path of AMV files
The default storage path for AMV files is C:\. Before conversion, click AMV storage
path button
on the right side of “Output file” column to define the storage
location of AMV files, as shown in following figure:
In the pop-up folder browsing dialogue box, select the storage path you want to save
the files, and click “Yes”button.
After finishing above steps, a complete AMV file storage path will be displayed in
“Output file”column in convert tool interface.
4.3 Property setting
The convert tool also has a function to set parameters of AMV files, such as to set
those main parameters of AMV files including video segment interception, length and
width of video and number of playing frames, etc. There are two ways to enter

property setting interface:
a. Select one or several video files and click Setting button
in “Output
information”column to enter;
b. Select one or several video files and right click, select “Setting”to enter;
Here, selection doesn’
t mean selection of check box of the video files, but click file
name with mouse and make the file background a blue color. The detailed settings will
be specified in following paragraphs. The default settings of convert tool on AMV files
are shown in following figure:
4.3.1 Interception of video segment
Interception of video segment refers to intercept the needed segment from video files
and convert. To do this, we need to set the starting and ending positions of the video
segment. There are two ways to set interception of video segment and the operations
are as following:
4.3.1.1. Set in property setting interface
First, tick the check box at the left side of “Interception of video segment”, making
starting point and ending point of the video segment editable. Then input starting time
and ending time. The interface is as shown in following figure:

As shown in above figure: the segment from 1:10 to 3:20 is intercepted.
Note: If the check box at the left side of “Interception of video segment”is not ticked,
the tool will convert the whole video file.
4.3.1.2 Set in video file playing interface
When a video & audio file is played, the related information of the AMV file will be
displayed in the output information column of tool interface, such as: starting time,
ending time, running time and total time. At this time, both the two buttons, “Starting
position”and “Ending position”, are effective.
Click “Starting position”button, current starting time will be displayed in starting time
column.
Also, click “Ending position”button, the current ending time will be displaying in ending
time column.
After both time points are selected, click “Select”button in tool interface to confirm the
time length of the segment to be intercepted, which will also be displayed in running
time column. Only the intercepted segment will be converted.
If you want cancel the intercepted segment, click “Cancel selection”button. At this
time, the time shown in running time column will return to total time length of the file.
The interface will return to the one before click “Selection”button and the whole file
will be converted in conversion.
Note: the way to intercept video segment in 4.3.1.1 is more suitable for
segment interception in a single file or several files together;
the way to intercept video segment in 4.3.1.2 is only applicable for
interception in course of playing, and effective only for the file being played.
4.3.2 Select video length of AMV files
There are two kinds of video length for AMV files, 96*64 and128*96 pixels. Please
select the length of an AMV file according to the length and width of the screen of MP3

Player, as shown in following figure:
4.3.3 Number of frames played each second in an AMV file
There are three kinds of number of frames played in one second for an AMV file: high,
middle and low. The default value for convert tool is middle. When the converted AMV
file doesn’
t have a satisfactory video effect, you can try to change the setting and the
interface is as following:
4.3.4 Insert image when there is a lack of image
As default, this option is ticked. To convert with a better video effect, please
use the default setting.

4.3.5 Replace the old audio data with new audio files
Replacing the old audio data with new audio files refers to replace the audio part of
current video & audio file with new audio files (WAV files) and the video part will
at the right
remain unchanged. To select new audio files, you can click the icon
side of “Replace the old audio data with new audio files” path column in property
setting interface to open the window for adding files. The interface will show as
following figure:
In above figure, click icon
to select the path of new audio files, after selecting
the right audio file, click “Open”button, as shown in following figure:
After the new audio file is correctly selected, the path of the file will be displayed in the
interface of “Replace the old audio data with new audio files”. At this time, click “Yes”
button to finish adding of the new audio file.
4.3.6 Insert sound when there is a lack of sound
As default, this option is not ticked. To convert with a better audio effect, please
use the default setting.
4.3.7 Other settings
4.3.7.1 “Cover files”refers to save currently created AMV file to replace the AMV
file with the same name and already in the defined storage location automatically. As
default, this option is ticked. If this option is not ticked, an error will be reported when
the created AMV file has already been there.
4.3.7.2 “Play after conversion”refers that after the video & audio file is converted,
the AMV Player will run to play the AMV file automatically. The default setting of this
option is ticked. If the option is not ticked, the AMV file won’
t be played automatically

after converting and a manual operation is needed.
4.3.7.3 “Try other decoder”refers that when corresponding decoder of current
video & audio file is not installed, the convert tool will try to use other decoders. The
default setting of this option is not ticked. At the same time, the extended-name of the
file can be changed, as an extended-name has a corresponding decoder.
In other settings, it is recommended to use the default settings of the tool.
After finishing above steps, click “Yes” button to save settings and finish property
setting operation.
Note: When converting, above system parameter settings are only effective for
selected video & audio files, and the unselected ones will remain the default settings
in conversion. The selection here doesn’
t mean the selection of check box, but to click
the file name with mouse and make the background color of the file blue, then click
“Setting”button directly or right click the selected files and select “Setting”.
4.4 Start file conversion
4.4.1 After system setting is finished, please confirm whether the check boxes of
the video & audio files to be converted have been ticked. Click
in tool interface
directly to start conversion. The program will convert the video & audio files whose
check boxes have been ticked. The file status will change from “Successful” into
“Converting”and the converting speed will be shown in converting progress column.
4.4.2 After all files are converted, the program will run AMV Player automatically
to play the created AMV files in turn. The AMV files which can be played properly
mean that the corresponding video & audio files have been successfully converted.
4.4.3 Besides above ways to convert files, you can also right click the video &
audio files save in the hard disk and select “Start video conversion”. The program will
auto run and begins to convert files directly.
5. Precautions
When converting Real play, QuickTime and MPEG2 format files, please install
decoder accordingly.
When concerting Real play, QuickTime and MPEG2 (DVD) format files, if your
Windows Media Player cannot play the files directly, you need to install a
corresponding compatible Windows Media Player decoder, till the Windows Media
Player can play the files correctly, otherwise the tool cannot work properly.

3 ) MP3 Player Disk Tool( Inner Scenes function )
All the common users of MP3 are fazed with Information Tell and not willing show
own personal information to the stranger. So you have to delete these privacies before
lending your MP3 to your friends, which makes so many troubles for you.
Well, this player supplies the function of Inner Scenes for you to resolve that
problem completely from now on.
The user may part the USB disk in half with any proportion by the tool with the
accessory of the player (The user may see two disk symbols on you computer. You
have to install SP4 for the operation system Windows 2000, or you may only see one
disk symbol. You have to select Single normal disk or Single encrypted disk in the
system setting/online mode if you want see another disk symbol.), and encrypt for one

password in the dialog box. You will open the disk if the name and the password are
correct. So you may copy files to it.
You have to input our user name and password to open the encrypted disk every
time you connect the computer.
Notes: Please backup the data in your disk in advance when you divide the
disk into two disks, which will eliminate the data in disk. Also, the data will be lost when
you unite the two disks.

4 ) MP3 Player Upgrade Tool (Upgrade player)
You may upgrade or maintain the system firmware for this player by the tool
software that installed in computer.
1. Switch to the main menu

Shortly press the key of Next to select the System Setting
3. Shortly press the key of Mode to switch to the System Setting
4. Shortly press the key of Next to select the Firmware Upgrade and the key of
MODE to switch to it.
5. Connect player with PC.
6. Run the upgrade tool of MP3 Player Update of PC, and then click the button of
Select the new version firmware file

Select the new firmware program (You may find it in the disk with the player and
also download from the website of manufacturer)

Click the button of Begin to upgrade, the system begin to upgrade for it.

Upgrade successfully, the player displays as follows.
The firmware upgrade is used in improving and optimizing the performance of
player. And it does not affect the normal run of the player without the firmware
upgrade.
The firmware upgrade will possibly lead to the abnormal working due to the mistake
operation! So please read the instruction carefully before operating, which is
suitable for the personnel to perform who has mastered some operation
knowledge in computer.
The firmware upgrade software of the player is not suitable for other series players,
vice versa.
5 ) Sound Convert Tool (Convert the ACT recorded file into WAV)
The files of ACT format that have been transcribed by this player may be
converted into the format of WAV by the accessory installation program tools with the
player.

Import telephone book
The user may import his prepared telephone files with computer into the player
by this function. The specific steps as follows:

Prepare the telephone book information with the supplied telephone edit
tool of Telbook.exe and save it to build the file of Telbook.bin
l
Copy the file of telbook.bin to the root directory with connecting the line of
USB.
l
Switch to the function of telephone and the import telephone option after
offing.
l
Import the contents that have been copied just moment in the file of
telbook.bin into the player after you confirm.
Export telephone book
You may export the telephone information saved in the player and build file with
this function. The user may edit it by the supplied tool with computer, the specific
steps as follows:

Turn on and switch to telephone book function and export telephone book
option.

You may export the telephone information of the player after you confirm it.

You may find the file of telesave.bin in the root directory after connecting
the line of USB, that is the exported telephone file. The user may edit it after
copying .

3.3 Play video files

4.3.1 Interception of video segment
Interception of video segment refers to intercept the needed segment from video files and
convert. To do this, we need to set the starting and ending positions of the video segment.
There are two ways to set interception of video segment and the operations are as

4.3.1.1. Set in property setting interface

Also, click “Ending position”button, the current ending time will be displaying in ending
time column.
After both time points are selected, click “Select”button in tool interface to confirm the
time length of the segment to be intercepted, which will also be displayed in running time
column. Only the intercepted segment will be converted.
If you want cancel the intercepted segment, click “Cancel selection”button. At this time,
the time shown in running time column will return to total time length of the file. The
interface will return to the one before click “Selection”button and the whole file will be
converted in conversion.

Note: the way to intercept video segment in 4.3.1.1 is more suitable for segment
interception in a single file or several files together;
the way to intercept video segment in 4.3.1.2 is only applicable for
interception in course of playing, and effective only for the file being played.
4.3.2 Select video length of AMV files
There are two kinds of video length for AMV files, 96*64 and128*96 pixels. Please select
the length of an AMV file according to the length and width of the screen of MP3 Player,
as shown in following figure:

to open the window for adding files. The interface will show as following figure:
In above figure, click icon
to select the path of new audio files, after selecting the right
audio file, click “Open”button, as shown in following figure:

After the new audio file is correctly selected, the path of the file will be displayed in the
interface of “Replace the old audio data with new audio files”. At this time, click “Yes”button
to finish adding of the new audio file.
4.3.6 Insert sound when there is a lack of sound
As default, this option is not ticked. To convert with a better audio effect, please use
the default setting.
4.3.7 Other settings
4.3.7.1 “Cover files”refers to save currently created AMV file to replace the AMV file
with the same name and already in the defined storage location automatically. As default,

this option is ticked. If this option is not ticked, an error will be reported when the created
AMV file has already been there.
4.3.7.2 “Play after conversion”refers that after the video & audio file is converted, the
AMV Player will run to play the AMV file automatically. The default setting of this option is
ticked. If the option is not ticked, the AMV file won’t be played automatically after
converting and a manual operation is needed.
4.3.7.3 “Try other decoder” refers that when corresponding decoder of current
video & audio file is not installed, the convert tool will try to use other decoders. The
default setting of this option is not ticked. At the same time, the extended-name of the file
can be changed, as an extended-name has a corresponding decoder.
In other settings, it is recommended to use the default settings of the tool.
After finishing above steps, click “Yes”button to save settings and finish property setting
operation.
Note: When converting, above system parameter settings are only effective for selected
video & audio files, and the unselected ones will remain the default settings in conversion.
The selection here doesn’
t mean the selection of check box, but to click the file name with

mouse and make the background color of the file blue, then click “Setting”button directly or
right click the selected files and select “Setting”.
4.4 Start file conversion
4.4.1 After system setting is finished, please confirm whether the check boxes of the
video & audio files to be converted have been ticked. Click
in tool interface directly to
start conversion. The program will convert the video & audio files whose check boxes
have been ticked. The file status will change from “Successful”into “Converting”and the
converting speed will be shown in converting progress column.
4.4.2 After all files are converted, the program will run AMV Player automatically to
play the created AMV files in turn. The AMV files which can be played properly mean that
the corresponding video & audio files have been successfully converted.
4.4.3 Besides above ways to convert files, you can also right click the video & audio
files save in the hard disk and select “Start video conversion”. The program will autorun and
begins to convert files directly.
5. Precautions
When converting Realplay, Quicktime and MPEG2 format files, please install decoder

accordingly.
When concerting Realplay, Quicktime and MPEG2 (DVD) format files, if your Windows
Media Player cannot play the files directly, you need to install a corresponding compatible
Windows Media Player decoder, till the Windows Media Player can play the files correctly,
otherwise the tool cannot work properly.
