The idea:
Bernard Roddy and ieke Trinks communicate with each other through their projected image and their voice in the space.
Duration:
As long as the event takes place.
Equipment:
4 laptops with in built cameras
4 Skype accounts
internet on 3 locations
2 beamers
2 long vga cables with connection points
2 sets of speakers
2 speaker cables with mini jack for laptop
2 white projection surfaces (preferable wall itself)
selves or hang systems for 2 laptops and 2 beamers
In the venues space on opposite walls are projections, one is Bernard and the other is ieke.
Both, Bernard and ieke, aren’t physical present in the venues space, but in their homes (or somewhere else) connected
with their laptops and skype with 2 laptops in the venues space.
On Bernard’s laptop, at “his home”, the Skype screen shows the venues space with on the wall in the back a projection of
ieke's image.
On ieke's laptop, at her home, the Skype screen shows the venues space with on the wall in the back a projection of
Bernard’s image.
Bernard and ieke try to communicate through/with the projected image, which they see on their laptops at “home”.
They talk and listen to each other voice amplified through speakers next to the projected images in the venues space and
captured with the laptops from the venues space.
Through the entire evening and the running program the Skype installation is on.
Bernard and ieke try to communicate, even though it's complicated when audience is blocking the view or because it's
noisy which makes it hard to hear each other well enough.
