Big Lottery Fund - Celebrate!
Funding of up to £10,000 is available to groups to hold one off
events or activities which celebrate their local community. You
could celebrate something from your community's history or a local
hero. Or maybe it's a chance to bring people together to get to
know their neighbours better.
The Big Lottery is keen to receive applications from groups who
have not applied to them before. Projects should be open to
everyone in local communities.
Higher priority will be given to applications from:

Projects which demonstrate communities coming together to
celebrate and share their diverse cultures

Projects which actively bring different generations together
Deadline: Applications will be assessed on a ‘first come, first
served’ basis until all funds (£3.875m) are awarded

Big Lottery Fund Expenditure 2015-16
The Big Lottery Fund Annual Accounts and Report 2015-16 shows
that their grant expenditure across the UK last year was £583m.
This was a reduction in the grant funding allocated as compared to
the previous year (2014-15) and the expenditure represents 80%
of the total grant budget (£698m) available for 2015-16. The
reasons cited for this reduction in allocated grants was the delay in
rolling out the part EU funded Building Better Opportunities scheme
and an over commitment of funding in 2014-15.
The report also highlights the scale of small grants (under
£10,000) offered by the Big Lottery Fund with 11,779 awards in
2015-16 (89% of total number of grants awarded).
Of the £583m awarded in 2015-16, over 91% of awards were
made to the voluntary and community sectors.
