MUSIC DEPARTMENT EVENTS Wed., May 10th 7:00 p.m. Spring Choir Concert NOTE: Please see clinic information below regarding T-dap and Meningococcal requirements for 7th grade students. Thu., May 11th 7:00 p.m. Spring Band Concert “DOPE IS FOR DOPES” PROGRAM For 8TH GRADE STUDENTS FRIDAY, MAY 5TH In our continued efforts to reinforce positive decision-making with the students at Willowick Middle School, we had an assembly for 8th grade students during first period on Friday, May 5th. That morning, inmates from Grafton Correctional Facility discussed their experiences and how poor decisions have impacted their lives. This youth outreach program, entitled “Dope is for Dopes”, stressed the importance of making good choices at a young age. This program has a positive message and is unlike other “scare you straight” presentations. The inmates have been trained to speak to children and have earned the opportunity to visit schools to share their stories and stress the importance of hard work, honesty, and positive choices. Several correction officers accompanied the inmates and Willowick police officers were present for the assembly. Thank you for your continued support of our mission of academic and character education. Tdap and Meningococcal Immunizations for 2017-2018 At the beginning of May, W-E Schools sent a letter regarding the Tdap and the Meningococcal immunizations, to all families that have students entering the 7th grade in the 2017-18 school year. Please read this letter carefully and call the Willowick Middle School Clinic at 440-295-2417 with any questions. If your child has not received these immunizations, please contact your pediatrician to get this booster before school starts in August. Students who do not provide documentation of these boosters will be subject to exclusion from school.
