Dear Fifth Grader:
Welcome to 5th grade! We are really looking forward to working with you! We are sure
you will find 5th grade to be an exciting year with interesting topics to study and challenges
around every corner.
In order to make the year a success, it is important that you have the proper materials
and supplies. Please come to school in September prepared with all of the supplies on the list
below. Write your name on everything and label items by subject as noted below! Desk
space is limited, so please keep to the materials and sizes listed. Thank you and we’ll see you
in September!
ALL 5th grade students will need the following items:

1 small handheld pencil sharpener (that collects shavings)
2 highlighters
1 pair of scissors
2 red pens
1 pack of reinforcements for loose leaf
2 large glue pens (please no glue sticks)
1 package color pencils
1 package of wide rule loose leaf paper
1 durable laminated folder (any color)
Large Soft pencil case with zipper
2-3 boxes of facial tissues (to be shared with the class)
1 container of disinfecting wipes
Ear buds to be used in CAI and with Chromebook
For Music - recorder (flute-like instrument that can be purchased at
Daddy’s Junky Music, John Keal, or Northeast Music) (Keep home until needed.)
Homeroom teachers will also request one or two small specific items to be purchased
after the start of school. You will be informed of additional supplies from your child’s
specific teacher during the locker night prior to the start of the school year.
