The
was, according to Alioe Gray, (who wrote to O.R.A. May 1,1919) the ol( Eben
~enkins House that D~rcy bought and later tore down.
She oontinues: "There
used to be, at the corner of' Holt St. and Wildwood Rd.,a little east of' the
front of the house where Converse now lives, either an old cider mill or blacksmith shop, so Eben ~enkins has told me.At the junction of' the two roads, it
might have been either.
I remember the old homstead, with the rocks etc., which later, Mr.
Varcy smoothed over for a lawn. A picture of' the Eben :enkins l house is in
the first collection of' Andover views that John Cole published and Mrs.
