Few men have achieved the success and privileged status of strategically buying real estate as he has, for all cash, especially when the purchase is in excess of $300 million dollars. Alex Rovt personifies the American Dream. From humble Jewish beginnings in Ukraine he rose, with intelligence, hard work and resolve, to become an American citizen and one of the 400 wealthiest Americans as recognized by Forbes. Arriving in America in 1984 with a Ph.D. in international economics he worked his way through odd jobs before joining the privately held IBE Trade Corporation. There he leveraged his extensive contacts and his ambition to eventually take control of the business. The rest as they say is history except for one important point, his success continues to grow as he seeks out new investment opportunities such as his acquisition of 14 Wall Street located at the very heart of America’s financial capital. His purchase of the Bankers Trust Company Building, 14 Wall Street, may prove to be his smartest buy yet. Although the acquisition price at $330 a square foot seemed high at the time, it is now looking very favorable. Sitting strategically across the New York Stock Exchange, at the northwest corner of Wall and Nassau Street, 14 Wall Street has been described as New York’s most picturesque and perhaps most important neo-classical skyscraper. It was designed by a prominent architectural firm of the early 20th century, Trowbridge & Livingston who designed many of New York’s notable public and commercial buildings. This important program will provide a unique opportunity to learn firsthand about strategic real estate investing from one of the richest and most successful industrialists in America.
