The 10th Annual The Power to Care Classic Nets More than $70,000 Now and then the elderly and disabled get in a bind and need a hand with their electric bills. Funds from a recent golf tournament hosted by Entergy Arkansas will help pay a lot of electric bills! Including the 100 percent Entergy shareholder match, more than $70,000 was raised at the 10th Annual The Power to Care Charity Classic golf tournament at the Country Club of Arkansas in Maumelle recently. Teams of vendors, customers and employees – each of which donated $500-$1,500 to participate – drove, chipped and putted for The Power to Care fund. Golf tournament chairperson Becky Galloway said, “We’ve got a really good thing going here. Doing this tournament for nine years now, we have a loyal following and a lot of enthusiasm from both returning and new participants. Most importantly, we’re raising a lot of money for The Power to Care.” The Power to Care, now in its 31st year, helps elderly and handicapped individuals pay their energy bills during times of financial distress. It serves as a lifeline to those in temporary dire circumstances. Dollar Energy Fund administers the program. James Bobo, Entergy Arkansas load analyst, was among the 72 players swinging for the greens in the 10th Annual The Power to Care Golf Classic.
