our community to an ANZAC Remembrance Service. The
children will sing, read a poem or two and share a few

the community attend.

to road conditions and closures will have to be away by

to be a very memorable assembly.
Wednesday 29 March –Emergency Services Day
St John, in partnership with Kaikoura Schools have
organised Emergency Services Day which will be held at
our school next week. Please complete the form which
has been sent home and return it to school by Thursday

Student Absence: It is very important, especially after
the recent earthquakes, that we know where our
students are. This is a Ministry of Education
requirement. Please call the office, by 9am or use our
Parent Teacher Calendar app (details opposite), if your
child is going to be absent from school. The PTC app

Earth Quake Support—Te Tai O Marokura Psychologist, Lisa Moffat, has asked
us to share with you her contact information should you wish to talk with her if
you have any concerns about the mental health of your children. Lisa is a fully
registered NZ Psychologist who has specialist knowledge not only in working with
children, but also in trauma work. This is a free highly confidential service to all
residents living in Kaikoura. Even if you would just like to have a quick chat as you
are not sure if your child’s behaviour is as you would expect after such a big event
as the November earthquakes, please don’t hesitate to call her directly on her
mobile 021 522 909. Lisa can offer a quick screening consultation through to
ongoing 1:1 therapy work if needed. She is also happy to work with any parents
that think they might like some support also.
We also have Suzi and Michelle, who are the school based mental health team,
coming in each week. They will be running programmes in class but please let us
know if you would like them to talk with you or your child.
