Harappa and Mohenjo-Daro Before 1924, no one knew that the great civilization of the Indus Valley had existed. It was then that archaeologists working along the Ravi River discovered the ruins of the city of Harappa. Its twin city, Mohenjo-Daro was located on the Indus River.
