much respect.
But what exactlyis a veteran?In my opinion,it is someonewho
who
hasservedour countryduring timesof war. A veteranis someone
was or is currentty in the military. They live a disciplinelife sothat we
donothaveto. Theygo off to war to ensureour freedomand protectour
way of life.
They are heroesto us,but to themthey arejust normal people.
They are modest.They don't look for publicity.Theyclaim to just be
doing their job. They statethingslike the real heroesare thosewho
didn't return from the war.
My grandfatheris a Korean War Veteran.IIe tells us stories
about the men in his platoon.He saysthat out of the 47 thtt went into
battle,onty 19 cameback He saysif it wasn't for the heroismof the
othershe wouldn't be standingheretoday.I am very proud of my
grandfather;he is oneof my biggestheroes.IIe wantsno notorietyor
fame.He wasjust doinghisjob. I admirehis humility.
Veteransdeserveour respect.They honor us with their presence.
They are menof courageand discipline.We honor thosewho serveor
who are currently servingon veteran's Day. on that day my
grandfatherhasthe wholefamily havea momentof silencefor his falen
comrades.Thenwe visit the localmilitary cemeteryto pay our respects
for all the young menwho died in battle.
In conclusion,
veteransdon't askfor much.They at leastdeserve
our gratitude. They arejust everydaypeoplewho wereturned into
soldiers.r am very proud to haveso many membersof my family be
servingmy country.
