Winter
2016
MeLCat Temporarily Suspended
The MeLCat Interloan
system will be
temporarily unavailable
until January 2016.
The MeLCat servers are
being moved to a new host site and
upgraded.
Due to the complexity of the
traffic flow between the affected
servers, it was determined that a
temporary complete shutdown
would result in the fewest
problems. This will affect libraries
across the state that are members
of MeLCat.
Incoming and outgoing materials
will still be processed. Items
currently checked out
can still be renewed and
managed by using the
MeLCat links. You will
be able to return items
to your Library. They will not be
checked in until the system is back
up.
MeL Databases will also be
affected. Searching across several
databases at the same time will
not be possible between
December 2nd — December 11th.
Searching individual MeL databases will still be available. Call
the Library at 423-2238 for
additional information.

Renovation Update
Now that the second egress is
complete, we are ready to begin
Phase II of the lower level
renovation project. What we will
accomplish in this phase is to
increase the flexibility of the meeting spaces to accommodate
increased usage by the
community, add a barrier free
bathroom, create storage for
tables and chairs, upgrade
technology to enhance our meeting spaces and modernize the
1960s environment.
It is an exciting time for the TDL
and our community! We
appreciate your patience as we
work to make the library better
suited to the way you want to use
it. It is going to be great!!
Workers from Krieghoff-Lenawee
work on the second egress.

CALMING COLORS CLUB!
Tecumseh District Library is
offering a brand new coloring
club for adults only. We supply
the adult level coloring pages
and colored pencils; please feel
free to bring snacks for yourself
or for the group. The club will
meet on the first Monday of every month from 6 pm -7:45 pm.
Coloring has been used as a
relaxation technique since the
early 20th century. One of the
first psychologists to use coloring as a de-stressor was Carl
Jung. Coloring causes us to
de-stress because when we
focus on that activity, we aren’t
so focused on our worries. It
also brings out our creative side
and takes us back to our child-
hood; a time where we had
significantly less stress. So
come unwind, relax, and create
beautiful pictures with us. We
look forward to seeing you at the
library!

Library during the
holiday season.

Monday of each month
