Full-service integrator of solar energy systems Convergence Energy LLC experienced a significant loss in potential customers when factors of shading, building
orientation and space restrictions made installing a solar array impossible. Not
wanting to turn customers away, Convergence Energy developed a way for
customers to receive the financial rewards of solar without directly generating
energy from their rooftops.

Home-Grown Installation
From designing and engineering the array to handling permits
and incentives, Convergence Energy developed all aspects of the
project from the ground up. Comprised of nearly 2,000 Enphase
microinverters, the 660kW solar farm hosts 99 dual axis trackers
with Helios Solar Works panels and trackers from OPEL Solar Inc.
and DEGERenergie. Locally manufactured in Milwakee, WI, Helios
was chosen for their high quality and efficient monocrystalline
design, which were installed upon dual axis trackers chosen to
maximize energy production.
The web-based monitoring and analysis software of Enlighten
enabled the Networked Solar concept to operate with multiple
systems and investors represented at the site. “The Enlighten
system is perhaps the finest monitoring system in the industry,”
said Steve Johnson, vice president of business development
for Convergence.
