Vendor Safety Tips
Sources of Medicine
Harborside Health Center exclusively accepts medicine
from legally qualified patients who are cultivating in
accordance with California law and have signed our
collective cultivation agreement.
Vending with Harborside Health Center
Here are some requirements for vending flowers with us:
• Please bring at least one full pound (454 grams) of flowers
or 50 grams of concentrates with you on your first visit.
• We work on a consignment basis with flowers and kief.
At the time of purchase, a firm payment date will be set 7-14 days from
purchase. You will be paid on that day, whether your medicine has been
sold or not.
• Every flower and concentrate that we purchase is laboratory tested for
the presence of pathogenic molds. Concentrates are submitted to the lab
for traditional potency testing while all flowers are examined in house for
potency on the Quantacann. For questions regarding this process please
speak with a purchasing agent during open purchasing hours. Results
will be available to you when you come to pick up reimbursement on
your scheduled voucher date.
• All sales are contingent on mold test results. This means that if your
medicine tests positive for pathogenic molds we must return it to you.
This is only approximately 2–4% of our purchases.
• Vendor orientation sessions are first come, first serve, with a 15-people
maximum. There are no guaranteed spots. In the event of an overflow, we
reserve the right to allow only one person per nursery or farm. Thanks for
your understanding and cooperation.
Harborside has the highest standards for medical cannabis;
please do not be discouraged if you do not sell us your medicine
the first time. Many people try several times before succeeding,
please keep coming back.
NOTE: If it’s your first time at Harborside Health Center, please allow more time
to become a member and verify your patient status, prior to attending vendor
orientation. We suggest arriving 1/2 hour early. See Purchasing Hours for more info.
As we all know, vendors are the life blood of not only Harborside, but of
all dispensaries. As such, vendor safety is and has always been a top priority
of the Harborside Safety Staff. Your arrival and departure to Harborside is
always carefully monitored, not only personally by safety staff members, but
by CCTV cameras.
To further our efforts to ensure your safety, we ask
that you follow these basic safety procedures:
• DO NOT make any stops while driving to or from Harborside
• Be alert, not only as you leave Harborside, but as you arrive as well
• Immediately report any suspicious activities to a member of our
safety staff, including vehicles, or persons you feel may be a threat
• Keep all valuables in your vehicle out of sight, in the trunk or in
a lock box if in a pick-up truck in order to hide it from prying eyes
• Bring a friend or partner with you whenever possible
• If you feel you are being followed after leaving Harborside, if it’s
possible, return to Harborside and report it to a safety staff member
• If at any time you feel your safety is in jeopardy, or you are certain
that you are being followed, you should consider calling 911.
• Keep all cultivation information and activities strictly on a
need-to-know basis
By following these simple steps, together we
can dramatically reduce or prevent most incidents
involving the theft of cash or medicine from our
valued vendors and friends.

What is CLEAN GREEN Certification?
CLEAN GREEN and Best Practices Certification is a garden
inspection program. As an advisor with over 40 years
experience in agriculture and a USDA Organic Certifier, Chris
Van Hook founded the CLEAN GREEN Certification Program.
CLEAN GREEN is an alternative to the USDA’s exclusion
USDA Organic Certification Program. As a licensed California attorney,
Chris follows procedures to ensure confidentiality of information provided
to the purpose of certification, even from law enforcement.
Medical cannabis patients now have the benefit of an independent, thirdparty certification that the cannabis was grown, processed, handled,
stored, transported, packaged, labeled and distributed using standards
and procedures that comply with national and international guidelines for
organic and sustainable farming.
Like the USDA Organic Certification Program, CLEAN GREEN Certification
includes both the growers and the collectives/cooperatives/dispensaries
that distribute products labeled CLEAN GREEN Certified. Certification
includes both the grower and the distributor.
What is Best Practices Certification?
Get $50
MORE
per/lb.
Best Practices Certification is run with the same protocols of
the CLEAN GREEN Program. The only difference between
the two programs is that the Best Practices Program allows
the use of synthetic fertilizers and inputs in a limited and
responsible manner.
As a purchasing department in an ever-changing market, we choose not to
suggest specific strains to grow. By the time you get the genetics, flower, cut,
and cure, you may be looking at a very different market.
We are always looking for pure sativas, high-grade indoor medicine,
exotics (Thai, Cambodian, African), and purples that are actually and
thoroughly purple.
Harborside Health Center does offer a wide variety of seeds and clones in
order to help you achieve the highest quality through the use of top-quality
genetic material.
Trim as tightly as possible; our patients like naked flowers. It is important
that each pound is graded for consistency. Pull out smaller buds and grade
the pounds. Flowers smaller than a dime or a nickel should be pulled out,
along with any not fully developed flowers. You will get more money per
pound if these two rules are followed. We do purchase the smaller flowers
separately for half the price of the larger flowers.
Attending Harborside’s seminar: Grow Your Own Medicine
is highly encouraged. Classes offered every Sunday.
• Beginners Seminar: Sunday, 2pm–3pm
• Advanced Seminar: Sunday, 3pm–6pm

Flowers Pricing
Vending Edibles
• Our pricing on the medicine we receive is based largely on the ‘bag
appeal’ of the medicine grown. This includes the visual appeal of the
flowers as well as the quality of the ‘nose’/smell.
Rules for Sample Submissions:
• All samples must be pre-packaged, as if they were for sale. We will not
accept any samples that are not individually packaged. We also appreciate
dosage/dry weight cannabis amounts. Please also list ingredients.
• For indoor medicine you can expect $2,800–$3,400 lb.
• We do buy outdoor medicine, but it must be very high-quality outdoor,
or one of the exotic strains. We do not sell as much outdoor medicine,
therefore we do not buy as much.
• For outdoor medicine you can expect $1,500-2,000 per lb.,
depending on the season.
• Please bring at least 10 samples to guarantee accurate feedback.
• Steer clear of anything colorful or potentially appealing to children.
• Avoid established food/ingredient brand names.
• No use of the word “organic.”
• Cold water concentrates range $7.50–$17.50 per gram, depending on the
quality of the melt when touched with a flame.
• Avoid duplicates of products we already carry.
• Kiefs range $5–$10 per gram, depending on the cleanliness of the kief.
Edibles Hours
• Due to the variation within the edible market a solid price range cannot
be given. Historically our edibles range $2–$15/unit depending on
potency and number of doses.
Vending Clones
Some basics that you will need to know:
• On your first visit, you will want to come in with one or two trays of clones.
• For ease of handling and watering, we prefer rockwool slabs of 50 cubes/tray.
• Cuttings should be healthy, green, and have ample, bright white roots.
• Cuttings cannot have twisted growing shoots or burnt leave.
