ROMEO AND JULIET IN OUR TIME
An adventure in creativity and a classic text!
1. GO TO MOODLE AND FIND THE LINK TO THE PADLET FOR YOUR CLASS
☐ See section titled “Romeo and Juliet” (or something like that)
☐ Under the “assignments” section, click on the link to today’s assignment: Romeo and Juliet in Our
Time (Act I).
After you click on the link, open an extra tab or two in your browser to make searching easier.
☐ You will come back to Moodle for the other two “padlets” (three in all), so keep that page open.
☐ Confirm appointments, schedules, reservations, etc.
☐ Tie up any loose ends at the office (finish up projects; set up out-of-office replies; notify or remind
coworkers about your departure).
☐ Print out hard copies of presentations, agendas, and important documents.
2. THE ASSIGNMENT: POSTING TO A WALL OF CREATIVITY
☐ You are creating posts on three different walls that go with three different parts of Act I of Romeo and
Juliet. You will add images, lyrics, and other stuff that go with each scene from the play.
☐ The three scenes are: “Oh no, you DID NOT bite your thumb at ME!” – “What Is Love? Baby, You Hurt
Me!” – “What’s Love Got to Do With It?”
☐ For each scene, find an image and song lyrics that can go with it. You will also write a 20-30 word
explanation for each image and lyrics to show how what you chose connects to the text.
☐ See the example on the first Padlet to help you see what yours should look like.
☐ Make sure you include your name at the top of each post!
☐ If you want to include other items in your posts, you can earn extra points and be even more
awesome! These other items might include: a youtube video embedded or linked, extra images,
☐ Keep your work organized. The more you organize it like the example, the better
☐ ABOVE ALL, DO NOT COPY ANOTHER STUDENT’S WORK! There are millions of songs and billions of
images out there, so originality is fully expected.
3. EXTRA TIPS
☐ It’s possible to bold, italicize, and underline text. Click on the ? icon on the right side of the padlet for
this info and other helpful tips.
☐ Your posts can be resized during or after you post, so don’t worry about typing all the way across the
screen. You can shrink it later.
☐ Clicking on a post will make it go to a full screen view.
