Presenting the Pro-Life Message in Southeastern Michigan Since 1970
CANDIDATE SURVEY
LIFESPAN sent the following ten-question survey to each candidate for U.S. House of Representatives,
State Senate (Wayne Co., 4th Dist.), Michigan House of Representatives, County Commissioner and various
other offices in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb Counties. (A separate Judicial Candidate Survey was also
mailed to candidates for Appeals, Circuit, District and Probate Courts. See pages 21-24.)
1.The 1973 U.S. Supreme Court Roe v. Wade decision allows for abortion for any reason, even as a method of birth control, even in the late stages of pregnancy. Do you SUPPORT the reversal of this decision?
2.Do you SUPPORT a law banning partial-birth abortions?

4.Human embryonic stem cells and human fetal tissue are used in some medical experimentation which has no beneficial effects for the fetus. Would you SUPPORT legislation that would prohibit the use of embryonic stem cells and fetal tissue research, especially when the killing of the preborn child is necessary for this type of experimentation?

5.Due to recent revelations of the practices of Planned Parenthood, would you defund Planned
Parenthood?
6.Would you SUPPORT a law banning so-called “reproductive cloning” – cloning meant to result in the birth of a baby?
7.Knowing that the removal of stem cells from human embryos results in the death of those
embryos, would you SUPPORT a law banning so-called “therapeutic cloning” (somatic cell
nuclear transfer)?
8.Do you OPPOSE laws allowing assisted suicide (so called “aid in dying”)?
9.Do you SUPPORT honoring the wishes of patients who want life-saving treatment (including food and water) regardless of their degree of disability, age and “quality of life”?
10.Do you SUPPORT legislation that would protect health care professionals from being forced to distribute medications or provide medical care that violates their moral or religious beliefs?
NOTE: LIFESPAN is not a political organization and does not endorse candidates for election. We have surveyed the
candidates as a service to our members. The questionnaires are on file at LIFESPAN’s Main Office for your perusal. If you

Elections belong to the people.
It's their decision.
If they decide to turn their back on the fire

then they will just have to sit on their blisters.

LIFESPAN Candidate Survey
Right to Life - LIFESPAN, Inc. is a non-profit educational and legislative organization. The first informs
and motivates people to do something. The second
speaks to changing laws. LIFESPAN can take sides
and urge passage of legislation which is called lobbying. LIFESPAN is not “political.” LIFESPAN does not
have a political action committee (PAC) to elect or to
defeat candidates. However, we can publish candidate
surveys. This has been clearly permitted on a number
of occasions by the U.S. Supreme Court. We can also
list office holders and tell you how they have voted
on various issues. Such reporting, as we do it, is not
“political.” Because this comes under Freedom of the
Press, such information can be passed out through
churches, without jeopardizing their tax status (again
by a decision of the U.S. Supreme Court). According to
legal terminology, this corporation can engage in “issue
advocacy.” The responses to the survey questions are
dependent on the honesty and integrity of the individual candidates. LIFESPAN is not responsible for any
candidate’s responses that differ from his or her public
stance on the issues. Any questions on discrepancies
should be directed to the candidate. F

Remember something, if you will,
about voting: Voting is not a horse race,
you're not going there thinking,
"Gee, I gotta pick the winner so I can brag to

and voting your conscience and when you've

Register and Vote!
✩
✩
Never underestimate the power of the ballot.
One of the greatest strengths of America is that all citizens are provided a voice through the voting booth. And
every vote does count! Many an election has been won by
a handful of votes or even just one vote.
But before you can vote in an election, you must be
registered. Registering to vote is an easy process. In fact,
Michigan was the first state in the nation to implement
“motor/voter” registration, allowing residents to register
to vote at any Secretary of State branch office. Today, over
88 percent of all eligible voters are registered.
To register, you must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years old
by election day and a Michigan resident. Any Secretary of
State branch office or county, city or township clerk’s office
can register you. In addition, specified agencies providing
services through the the Department of Human Services,
20
the Department of Community Health, the Michigan Jobs
Commission, and military recruitment centers also provide
voter registration services.
You may also register to vote by mail—forms are
available at your local clerk’s office or from the Secretary
of State web site. If you register to vote by mail, and you
have moved to a new voting jurisdiction or are registering
for the very first time, you must vote in person in the first
election in which you participate. The only exceptions are
if you are 60 years old or older, disabled as defined by law
or temporarily living overseas.
You also have the option of registering to vote when
you renew your driver license by mail. Eligible drivers
receive a voter registration application in the mail with
their driver license renewal information.
As you can see, there are several options for you to
choose from when registering to vote. But no matter where
or how you register, you will vote in your assigned precinct
in your hometown.
F Download an absentee ballot application at
www.michigan.gov/sos
F Send your absentee ballot request form to your clerk
at: www.michigan.gov/sos Absentee voter ballots are available for all elections.
They provide voters with a convenient method for casting a ballot when they are unable to attend the polls on
election day.
As a registered voter, you may obtain an absentee voter
ballot if you are:
F age 60 years old or older
F unable to vote without assistance at the polls
F expecting to be out of town on election day
F in jail awaiting arraignment or trial
F unable to attend the polls due to religious reasons
F appointed to work as an election inspector in
a precinct outside of your precinct of residence.
A person who registers to vote by mail must vote in
person in the first election in which he or she participates.
The restriction does not apply to overseas voters, voters
who are disabled or voters who are 60 years of age or
older. (Voting in person on one governmental level clears
the restriction on the other levels. For example, if a voter
subject to the restriction votes in person at a school election,
the voter would be free to obtain an absentee ballot for the
first state election in which he or she wishes to participate.)

JUDICIAL CANDIDATE SURVEY
LIFESPAN sent the following three-question survey to each candidate for judicial office in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb
Counties, including Appeals Court, Circuit Court, District Court and Probate Court. Candidates were also asked to state, in
50 words or less, their judicial philosophy as it relates to matters of statutory interpretation. Statements provided by judicial
candidates are on file at LIFESPAN’s Main Office. Please call for further information. The following questions are intended to canvas your judicial philosophy. These questions are not directed
at any particular case that you may have previously ruled upon, are about to rule upon or may rule upon
in the future.
1. Which of the following groups of United States Supreme Court Justices possess a judicial philosophy that is closest to your own? Please mark your selection.
ABCD
A. Former Justice Antonin Scalia and Justice Clarence Thomas
B. Justice Anthony M. Kennedy and former Justice Sandra Day O’Connor
C. Former Justice David Souter and former Justice John Paul Stevens
D. Justice Ruth Bader Binsberg and Justice Stephen Breyer
2. Which book most closely captures your judicial philosophy? Please mark your selection.
ABCD
A.
A Matter of Interpretation, by Antonin Scalia
B.
Rights from Wrongs, by Alan Dershowitz
C. Active Liberty, by Stephen Breyer
D. Feminist Legal Theory: Readings in Law and Gender, edited by Katharine T. Bartlett and Roseanne Kennedy
3. Which statement most closely captures your judicial philosophy as it relates to matters of Constitutional interpretation? Please mark your selection.
ABCD
A. Our State and Federal Constitutions should be interpreted by ascertaining the original meaning of the words that make up these documents.
B. Our State and Federal Constitutions should be interpreted by ascertaining the current meaning of the words that make up these documents.
C.
D.
Our State and Federal Constitutions provide general outlines of societal goals. The interpretation of our Constitutions can change over time to reflect the changing views of society. Constitutional interpretation should not be so stringent as to preclude the flexibility needed in a changing society.
A judge ought not commit to methods of constitutional interpretation before a case is heard. A judge should consider the arguments of the litigants and select a method of constitutional interpretation that produces a fair and equitable result in each case before the court.
4. In 50 words or less, on the reverse side of this questionnaire, describe your judicial philosophy as it relates to matters of statutory interpretation.
NOTE: LIFESPAN is not a political organization and does not endorse candidates for election. We have surveyed the candidates
as a service to our members. The questionnaires are on file at LIFESPAN’s Main Office for your perusal. If you need further
verification on a candidate’s stand on these or other issues, please contact the candidate directly.

It is not sufficient to think that, since candidate X
takes the “right position” on other issues such as the economy, foreign relations, defense, etc.,
but only goes wrong on abortion,
one can in good conscience, vote for him/her.
Abortion deals with the first and most basic human right,
without which there is nothing left to talk about.

Your request for an absentee voter ballot must be in
writing and can be submitted to your city or township
clerk. (For assistance in obtaining the address of your city
or township clerk, see www.Michigan.gov/vote). Your
request must include one of the six statutory reasons stated
above and your signature. You must request an absentee
voter ballot by mailing the application, a letter, a postcard,
or a pre-printed application form obtained from your local
clerk’s office. Requests to have an absentee voter ballot
mailed to you must be received by your clerk no later than
2 p.m. the Saturday before the election.
Once your request is received by the local clerk, your
signature on the request will be checked against your voter
registration record before a ballot is issued. You must be a
registered voter to receive an absentee ballot. Requests for
absentee voter ballots are processed immediately. Absentee
voter ballots may be issued to you at your home address or
any address outside of your city or township of residence.
After receiving your absentee voter ballot, you have
until 8 p.m. on election day to complete the ballot and
return it to the clerk’s office. Your ballot will not be counted unless your signature is on the return envelope and
matches your signature on file. If you received assistance
voting the ballot, then the signature of the person who
helped you must also be on the return envelope. Only you,
a family member or person residing in your household,
a mail carrier, or election official is authorized to deliver
your signed absentee voter ballot to your clerk’s office.
If an emergency, such as a sudden illness or family
death prevents you from reaching the polls on election
day, you may request an emergency absentee voter ballot. Requests for an emergency ballot must be submitted
after the deadline for regular absentee voter ballots has
passed but before 4 p.m. on election day. The emergency
must have occurred at a time which made it impossible
for you to apply for a regular absentee voter ballot. Your
local clerk will have more information about emergency
absentee voter ballots. F

Cast your VOTE
What can a pro-life person do as we approach this
election? First of all, educate yourself! Get a copy of a
sample ballot, either in person at your city clerk’s office,
or online at the Secretary of State website or your local
26
city government website. Research the candidates. One
way to do this is to see who responded to LIFESPAN’s
candidate survey and what their responses were. Don’t
hesitate to simply call the candidate’s office and ask them if
they are pro-life and if they feel there are any circumstances
where abortion should be legal.
Secondly, realize that you are not asking about a policy,
or how something will be accomplished, but a principle.
A principle that states that all innocent life should be
protected and respected: conception until natural death.
There really is no way to compromise on a principle. Either
you protect and respect innocent human life or you don’t.
The manner in which you go about protecting those lives
is up for debate; that is a policy.
Finally, make sure that you VOTE! Whether by absentee
ballot or in person, your vote matters! The people who take
public office, regardless if it is a city, state or federal position,
influence what happens in people’s lives. They create the
policies that can potentially impact your principles. Make
sure that you elect the people who reflect your principles.

Wee Care
Dear Friends,
Along with New Life (lots
of it!), this past Spring also
brought a few baby showers
for my precious Wee Care
babies, and I can’t thank you enough! We received adorable
sleepers, onesies, diapers, wipes, crib sheets, baby towels,
beautiful handmade afghans, and so much more. My
gratitude is beyond words!
Each year, we provide over 600 layettes and packages
and we distribute over 5400 sleepers and onesies, 3,000
receiving blankets, 600 packages of diapers, and that is
just a few of the items we give out. I don’t know what
my little ones would do without your love and support!
As I said, there was a lot of “New Life” to celebrate and
provide for. So many phone calls, so many pleas for help
and so many mothers in desperate situations. This past week alone, we helped over thirty moms! One mother of two little ones, had a house fire and
lost everything. Another mother gave birth to twins. They came early,
dad had lost his job and with an eleven-year-old in the
family—there were no hand-me-downs! We also helped a teen, whose parents made her leave
their home when she refused to have an abortion. She is
living with a friend’s grandmother, has decided not to
give her baby up for adoption and is determined to be a
good mom. So many heartbreaking stories that affect so many
families. You will never know how many lives you have
touched and what a difference your love, generosity and
prayers make. In addition to the material goods, you also give our
moms the gifts of hope (that things will get better), peace
of mind (that their babies immediate needs are being
provided) and love (that strangers care about them and
their precious child!).
May God bless you all! Have a beautiful, relaxing
summer (and if you get bored—remember us at garage
sales and clearance sales when you are keeping cool at
the mall!)
Love, Karen

Supreme Court Overturns Texas Law
T
By Steven Ertelt he Supreme Court on June 27 issued its biggest ruling on abortion since upholding the federal ban on
partial-birth abortions in the Gonzalez decision. The
Supreme Court reversed part of a pro-life Texas law that
protects women’s health and has also saved the lives of
thousands of unborn children and closed abortion clinics
that can’t ensure adequate protection for women.
The high court ruled 5-3 against the Texas pro-life law
with Justice Stephen Breyer writing the decision. Justices
Anthony Kennedy, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Sonia Sotomayor
and Elena Kagan joined Breyer. Chief Justice John Roberts
and Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas dissented.
Breyer’s majority opinion for the court held that the
regulations are medically unnecessary and unconstitutionally limit a woman’s right to an abortion.
The 5-3 decision in Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstedt
shows the paramount importance of judge’s in this year’s
presidential election. In approving the appeal from abortion companies, the Supreme Court did not allow Texas’
pro-life law to stand.
At issue in the ruling were two provisions—that abortion clinics meet the same building standards as ambulatory surgical centers (ASCs) and that abortionists have
admitting privileges at a nearby hospital for situations of
medical emergencies.
Texas’ law is arguably responsible for saving the lives
of tens of thousands of unborn babies by closing abortion
clinics that are unable to protect women’s health. The laws
protects women’s health and welfare by requiring abortion
clinics to meet the kinds of medical and safety standards
that legitimate medical centers meet.
28
Breyer wrote that “the surgical-center requirement, like
the admitting privileges requirement, provides few, if any,
health benefits for women, poses a substantial obstacle
to women seeking abortions and constitutes an ‘undue
burden’ on their constitutional right to do so.”
Justice Clarence Thomas, who authored the dissenting
opinion, wrote, “Today the Court strikes down two state
statutory provisions in all of their applications, at the behest
of abortion clinics and doctors. That decision exemplifies
the Court’s troubling tendency ‘to bend the rules when
any effort to limit abortion, or even to speak in opposition
to abortion, is at issue.’”
He continued, “…today’s decision creates an abortion
exception to ordinary rules of res judicata, ignores compelling evidence that Texas’ law imposes no unconstitutional
burden, and disregards basic principles of the severability
doctrine. I write separately to emphasize how today’s
decision perpetuates the Court’s habit of applying different rules to different constitutional rights—especially the
putative right to abortion.”
John Seago, the legislative director for Texas Right to
Life, said the Supreme Court ruling will have a terrible
effect on similar pro-life laws in other states that seek to
protect women and unborn children.
“This dangerous SCOTUS ruling allows the abortion
industry to challenge any safety laws by threatening to
close rather than follow law,” Seago said.
Steve Aden, an attorney with Alliance Defending Freedom, said the ruling puts women’s health at risk. In his
comments to LifeNews.com, he said:
“Abortionists shouldn’t be given a free pass to elude
medical requirements that everyone else is required to
LIFESPAN NEWS F July 2016
follow. We are disappointed that the Supreme Court has
ruled against a law so clearly designed to protect the health
and safety of women in the wake of the Kermit Gosnell
scandal. The law’s requirements were commonsense protections that ensured the maximum amount of protection
for women, who deserve to have their well-being treated
by government as a higher priority than the bottom line of
abortionists. Any abortion facilities that don’t meet basic
health and safety standards are not facilities that anyone
should want to remain open.”
Abortion advocates challenged the law and those facility
regulations and hospital admitting requirements, arguing
that these clinics should not be held to the same health
standards as other outpatient ambulatory facilities. The
abortion businesses suing to stop the pro-life law argued
that the effect of the law will be to close many abortion
clinics, thus creating an “undue burden” on the right of
women to have an abortion.
But Attorney General Paxton reminded the justices that,
“Petitioners ignore the fact that under the Fifth Circuit’s
decision, which granted as-applied relief in McAllen, every
metropolitan area with an abortion facility operating today
in Texas will still have an operating abortion facility if the
ruling takes effect.”
Paxton wrote, “States are given wide discretion to pass
medical regulations.” Paxton explained that the admitting
privileges requirement had already been upheld by courts
in a separate lawsuit which “correctly conclude[d] that
the challenged provisions of HB2 do not facially impose
an undue burden.”
Petitioners ask this Court to depart from a quarter-century of this Court’s abortion jurisprudence by judging for
itself the medical effectiveness of HB2’s requirements and
balancing it against the burdens purportedly caused by
HB2. In short, petitioners would have this Court serve as
“the country’s ex officio medical board with powers to
approve or disapprove medical and operative practices
and standards throughout the United States”—a role this
Court has specifically declined to assume.
“[The abortion providers] wish to proceed as if their
first lawsuit against HB 2 never happened,” the state attorneys continued. “But they litigated that case to a final
judgment, and arguments and evidence they chose not to
present there are barred.”
Texas Solicitor General Scott Keller argued the case
before the court earlier this year and he was immediately
met with skepticism from the pro-abortion members of
the high court.
“According to you, the slightest health improvement
is enough to burden the lives of a million women,” Justice
Sonia Sotomayor told him.
Justice Anthony Kennedy is the swing vote on almost
any abortion case and he appeared sympathetic to the
argument that abortion clinics should be expected to
comply with sensible medical standards if given enough
time, according to the Washington Examiner:
“Regulations sometimes take years to adopt,” Kennedy
said. At another point, he suggested the lower district court
LIFESPAN NEWS F July 2016
could delay a final decision for a few more years, until it
becomes clear whether clinics remain closed, as opponents
of the law predict, or whether they manage to reopen.
Kennedy has supported some abortion limits in the
past, including the federal ban on partial-birth abortion.
But how far he’s willing to let states go in tamping down
on abortion is not clear.
Roger Severino, director of the Heritage Foundation’s
DeVos Center for Religion and Civil Society, watched the
oral arguments and said he thought they went as expected.
He is hopeful that Justice Kennedy will side with Texas in
upholding the law.
“We had the liberal/conservative breakdown in the
Court that you would expect among the justices, but
Justice Kennedy, in the few questions he asked, showed
some hesitation about courts second-guessing the state’s
ability to regulate abortion clinics,” Severino said. “Even
Justice Breyer acknowledged the state’s intent in regulating abortion clinics was a legitimate desire to help further
women’s health and not for some nefarious purpose.”
“Justice Alito repeatedly challenged the plaintiffs to
point to the evidence that clinics closed because of these
regulations as opposed to some other reason, and asked
for any evidence that the abortion industry cannot adapt
to the new standards,” he added.
Severino emphasized “this case was about the ability
of Texas to increase the health and safety standards at
abortion clinics. The abortion industry should not get a
special exemption and Texas is well within its rights to act.”
The Supreme Court considered two explicit questions
in the Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstadt case over the
Texas law:
(1) Whether, when applying the “undue burden” standard of Planned Parenthood v. Casey, a court errs by refusing
to consider whether and to what extent laws that restrict
abortion for the stated purpose of promoting health actually
serve the government’s interest in promoting health; and
(2) whether the United States Court of Appeals, Fifth
Circuit erred in concluding that this standard permits
Texas to enforce, in nearly all circumstances, laws that
would cause a significant reduction in the availability
of abortion services while failing to advance the State’s
interest in promoting health—or any other valid interest.
Both of these questions deal with the “undue burden”
standard from Planned Parenthood v. Casey, which has been
used to challenge every type of Pro-Life legislation across
the country since 1992. Whether the abortion industry is
challenging informed consent laws (like Texas’ Sonogram
Bill in 2011), prohibitions on late abortions (as in Arizona
in 2014), or higher medical standards (as in the current
challenge to House Bill 2), the plaintiffs use the vague and
undefined “undue burden” standard in all cases.
The Supreme Court has not directly addressed the issue
of abortion since 2007, when the Court upheld the federal
Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act in Gonzales v. Carhart.

From the President’s Desk
I
My Dear Pro-Life Friends,
think you will agree that this is a very strange election. I hope this issue will help you to make the right
decisions when entering the voting booth.
The challenge this year is to decide who best represents our own philosophy on life issues. Who will protect human life from conception to natural death?
The one thing I have learned through these 46 years
working in the pro-life movement is that there is no perfect candidate running in a government election. It is important that we vet every candidate and vote for the ones
who closely resemble our pro-life views.
Your vote is important—not voting could be a vote for
the pro-death candidate.
I understand that there are issues other than the life
issues. But, the issue of LIFE is the one issue that is paramount! If one is not allowed LIFE, then what do the peripheral needs of the human person matter?
Over three thousand human lives are lost by abortion
in this country every day. These people will not need
social, medical or educational services. They will never
need social programs—they are no more!
So, if you vote for a person who promotes abortion,
assisted suicide or euthanasia, you are voting for the
ultimate injustice—being killed because of progressive
laws—instituted by those who have the power of a vote.
Just look at the past forty-six years? What has happened to our traditional values and the undermining
of the Constitution? Our founding fathers founded this
country on the premise that all people have a right to
LIFE, LIBERTY AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS.
Your pro-life vote counts!! Don’t waste it!!
May God give us the courage to continue the good
fight for LIFE!

Oh brother: Now “Euthanasia” is “Dignicide”
By Wesley J. Smith
T
he euthanasia movement has always been about finding
words and terms to mask the harshness of killing as a
response to suffering.
Indeed, the word “euthanasia”—good death—did not
originally refer to killing. Rather, it meant dying peacefully
in a state of grace.
Now, the suicide fanatic Faye Girsh—former head of
the Hemlock Society—reporting from a convention of
the World Federation of Right to Die Societies, says the
psychiatrist that brought euthanasia to the mentally ill
in Netherlands has coined an obscuring word to replace
“euthanasia” in the movement’s lexicon.
From her summary:
Boudewijn Chabot (de Einder) disclosed the name of
the patient whose death 25 years ago brought him into
conflict with the Dutch Supreme Court and opened the
way for help for psychiatric patients. He is now using the
term ”dignicide” (which my spell checker is rejecting) as
the word promoted by some to describe a self-selected
rational and dignified death. You can call a dung beetle a butterfly—but it is still a
dung beetle. —Human Exceptionalism, May 26, 2016

…and this is why they are the Pro-Life Generation!
She Went to One of the Most Pro-Abortion Universities
But Became Pro-Life, Here’s How
L
By Micaiah Bilger auren Galvan decided to keep an open mind about
the abortion issue when she started her freshman
year at Brown University in 2012.
Galvan, a senior, recently wrote an op-ed for the Brown
Daily Herald about how she began exploring the abortion
issue as a young college student. She said she did not think
much about the issue in high school, and she decided to
change that it college.
It was during a biology class at Brown when Galvan
came to the conclusion that unborn babies are human beings
who deserve the same right to life that other humans do.
She wrote:
Ironically, coming to Brown, arguably the most liberal
school in the Ivy League, was the first step in my conversion
to the pro-life cause. After taking BIOL 0320: “Vertebrate
Embryology” with the late Marjorie Thompson ’74 PhD’79
P’02 P’07 P’09 P’12 P’15 P’16, who was associate dean of
biology, the spring semester of my freshman year, I profoundly changed my disposition on human personhood,
and I became firmly pro-life.
The scientific reality of fetal development first catalyzed
this resolution. In every embryology textbook, I found—as
you will find—irrefutable evidence that an individual
human life begins at conception. At that point, a living
organism with unique human DNA is created. This is
simply a scientific fact, and no amount of arguing from
pro-choicers can make it untrue. What they mean to say
is that this fertilized embryo, though human and alive,
is not yet a person and therefore not protected under the
category of human rights.
Galvan then articulately explained the pro-life position
in her column and pointed out the danger of allowing
society to decide who is a “person” with rights and who
isn’t. She brought up the human rights abuses of slavery
and genocide, which supporters
justified with claims that the targeted groups of people were not
really people.
“Our right to life would not
depend on others’ opinions of us,
but rather on the simple and indisputable fact that we are all human
and that each human life deserves
protection under the law,” Galvan
wrote. “This is the pro-life position
in a nutshell.”
Motivated by her conclusions, Galvan went on to found
the Students for Life at Brown club. She said she can’t even
imagine identifying with the “pro-choice” label that she
once did during her high school days.
“… for to say ‘I am pro-choice’ to other people is to
tell them that I would have or could have supported their
parents’ decisions to terminate their lives. To me, that is the
absolute equivalent of telling someone that his or her life
has neither meaning nor purpose,” Galvan continued. “All
human life has value, and it’s time we start protecting it.”
Modern scientific evidence about human life has drawn
many people to the conclusion that abortion is wrong. In
2013, pro-life writer Sarah Terzo shared a medical student’s
testimony after witnessing an abortion. The man said he
was troubled after watching the abortion as part of his
medical training, and said he could no longer call himself
pro-choice. He said he could not stop thinking about who
that aborted baby boy would have become if he had been
allowed to live.
These facts become clear when people seek the truth
about abortion. Human life begins at the moment of fertilization, and every human being deserves the right to life.
