Polite command, request (höflicher Befehl, Bitte)
ask, beg, invite someone to do something
Teacher: “Do your homework, please.“
The teacher asked us to do our homework.
or: The teacher said that we should do our homework.
Normal command
tell, say, remind, want someone to do something
Teacher: “Do your homework.“
The teacher told us to do our homework.
or: The teacher told us that we should do our homework.
Strong command
shout at, scream at, command someone to do something
The teacher shouted at us, “Do your homework!”
The teacher shouted at us to do our homework.
Negative command
tell, command, order someone NOT to do something
Teacher: “Don’t do your homework!”
The teacher ordered us not to do our homework.
