From which vendors should we purchase school uniform items?
o There are three approved StMS uniform vendors:
 Flynn O’Hara – www.flynnohara.com. Flynn O’Hara will hold on-site fitting and ordering opportunities May 21 and July 21.
The yellowbutton-down shirt, houndstooth skirt and skort are only available from this vendor. Online ordering will also
be available.
 Educational Outfitters – www.educationaloutfitters.com
You may order online or at their store, located at 1331 Buck Jones Rd, Raleigh. Houndstooth jumper is available from this
vendor and Flynn O’Hara.
 Land’s End – http://www.landsend.com
o Physical Education uniforms, Track Jackets and Pants, and school logo sweatshirts and sweatpants are available for purchase from the
StMS Spirit Store.
Can all grades wear the yellow button-down shirt?
o The short and long sleeved yellow button-down shirt with the school logo is a privilege only for Grades 6-8. It is a part of the DRESS
uniform required for Mass and other designated special occasion days. It may also be worn on any other school day.
Is the jumper required for PreK - Grade 2 girls?
o All girls in grades PreK – 2 are required to wear the jumper with blouse on Mass days and designated special occasions. They may
also wear it on any other school day along with all other uniform options.
What is the hemline length requirement for girls?
o Skirts, skorts and jumpers may be no shorter than 2” measured from the crease at the back of the knee.
Can boys wear shorts on Mass days?
o Boys will now wear pants on Mass day and other designated special occasion days. Shorts are not part of our DRESS uniform.
Do all socks need to be white?
o Crew-length, ankle-length, or knee-high socks must be worn as a part of the school uniform, and may be solid white, navy, or black. A
small manufacturer’s logo is acceptable. Liner socks, or ‘footies’ are not a part of the school uniform.
What types of belts are acceptable?
o Leather or leather-like belts in navy, brown or black are acceptable. Students will wear a belt with all shorts and pants.
What sweatshirts or outwear is allowed in the classroom?
o Students may wear cardigan sweaters, sweatshirts and jackets with the school logo in the classroom. The track suit jacket available in
the Spirit Shop is also approved for classroom wear. In colder weather, students may wear heavier coats and jackets to and from
school and during outdoor recess, however coats and jackets without a school logo are not approved for classroom wear.



Can girls wear tights or leggings in cold weather?
o In cold weather, girls may wear solid colored navy or white tights, navy or khaki full-length pants, or the track suit pants available for
purchase in the StMS Spirit Shop. Leggings are not a part of the school uniform.
I don’t see any banded polo shirts available to purchase. May students still wear them?
o Yes, students may continue to wear banded polo shirts during the 2015-2016 school year. These shirts are being phased out and are no
longer available for purchase.
What is meant by “dress shoe”?
o Dress shoes should be one solid color - dark navy, black, or brown. Oxford style, saddle shoes, loafers, top-siders are acceptable. Topsiders may be two-tone in color, such as brown combined with solid beige or tan. Ballet-style flats with hard soles may be worn with
socks. Wallabee shoes will not be part of the school uniform for the 2015-2016 school year.
