Geometry Fundamentals Triangle Project
Festive Fall Stained Glass Window
Introduction: For this project you will work individually creating a project using nothing but triangles.
You will create a stained glass window. Your project will be created using only triangles and will be
graded on the originality and neatness.
Guidelines: You MUST us a ruler!!! You will be creating a fall themed stained glass window using
triangles and triangles only. NO other shapes are permitted in your project. If you want a square you
must make it out of 2 triangles. A stained glass window has a strip of black separating each piece of the
window. The strip of black must be completed using a marker, no pen or pencil is acceptable.
Along with your physical project you will also need to complete a written aspect of the project. You will
be required to use several different types of triangles in your project. You will also need to use congruent
triangles and the properties of triangles. In order to prove your learning you will be required to write a
1-2 page paper explaining your fall themed window and the different types of triangles used to create
your project. A detailed description of the process you used to create your project must also be included.
You will also have to explain how two or more of the concepts or triangles and congruent triangles relate
to real world applications of triangles.
Project Checklist:
 Have a draft of your stained glass window (Not Colored) turned in between November 9th
and the 11th.
 Gather materials to complete project on 8.5 x 11 inch paper provided, Keep in mind
projects that do not take up the entire page will not be accepted.
 Create/Complete project (Minimum 14 Triangles)
o Your project MUST include at least two of each of the following:
 Right Triangles
 Acute Triangles
 Obtuse Triangles
 Scalene Triangles
 Isosceles Triangles
 Equilateral/equiangular
 Congruent Triangles
 Your rough draft must accompany your final project & be labeled with the types of
triangles used in your stained glass window.
 Write a 1-2 page paper on your project, including two or more real world applications for
triangles.
 Turn in colored project(at least 3 different colors), typed paper and rubric on Friday,
November 18th 2011.
** Use your imagination and have fun with this project.
** NO projects will be accepted after Friday November 18th due to Thanksgiving Break!
