First Grade Unit: Nuestro Ambiente
Spanish Language
Overview. In this unit, students learn about the country of Spain. Students also learn about
means of transportation, the seasons, weather, temperature and various activities people can do in
Spain throughout the year.
Essential Questions:
● How do we travel? (week 1)
● What do we do during the year? (week 2)
● How does the environment change during each season? (week 3)
● What’s the day like? (week 4)
Enduring Understandings:
● Earth is a large planet, but through modes of transportation people can travel to many places
throughout the globe.
● Spain is a place on Earth where people speak Spanish. ● People use transportation to travel within Spain.
● People do different activities depending on the month and time of year. ● People do different activities depending on the weather condition.
● Plants change depending on the season.
