Usable in many applications across a range of industry sectors the
PCS-100 will provide reliable tool, object or free space monitoring
on a variety of machine tools and automatic process equipment.
The PCS-100 is mechanically adjustable, which allows you to easily
set or change the sensing needle sweep from 0° - 180° in either CW
or CCW direction. The PCS-250 Smart sensor adds another level of
flexibility with its Teach–In facility and 300° of CW & CCW needle
sweep.
To extend reliability and service life, clever design means there is no
miniature reversing gear box in the PCS sensor, minimising moving
part wear and tear. Capable of over 200 cycles per minute, PCS-100
and PCS-250 sensors will keep pace with your fastest machines.

PCS-100 offers a simple, effective, affordable and practical
solution to preventing chain reaction broken tooling, down
time, scrap parts, remanufacture, and machine damage which
often results from a single broken tool, mis-feed or finished
part ejection failure.
Positive Contact Sensors are designed and manufactured to
be simply installed and operated in the toughest environments.
The Uni-body, gearbox free construction and unique V-Cup Cap
Seal make them ideally suited to use in coolant streams, metal
chips, heat and congested tool areas in most metal cutting
machines and other production applications.
Tool Monitoring - Check critical cylindrical tools such as drills,
taps, reamers, milling cutters and special form tools for
breakage. One Positive Contact Sensor can monitor problem
tools regardless of diameter changes on CNC vertical and
horizontal machining centres.
Multi Spindle lathes and drilling machines are popular
applications for Positive Contact Sensors, PCS-100’s small size,
speed and sealing ensure it provides excellent protection for
main slide tooling.
Free space / object monitoring - Check mis-feeds on bar
feeders, provide cut off confirmation on lathes, monitor part

The PCS-250 is an amazingly smart
sensor, It learns and remembers tool
or object location at the touch of a
button through 300° of CW or CCW
swing direction.
Like the PC100 there is no miniature
reversing gear box due to the fact
there is no encoder which improves
reliability and service life.

Installation
Positioning of the sensors is straight forward whether using dedicated bespoke
mounts as per the Tornos Deco installation (see pictures right), or by using the
available clamping rings and brackets or the MSB-28 Magnetic base mounting.
The PCS sensors are easily installed, simply requiring a 24v DC power supply
and a spare machine M function or an existing sensor / alarm circuit.
Alternatively an additional stand alone circuit can be created and 110-240V AC
input power to 24v dc converters can also be supplied.

guide for the PCS-100 & PCS-250 options are
provided with each kit purchased. Please note
these should be adhered to for safety and
warranty purposes.
