OFFICIAL RULES & REGLUATION – CONTEST RULES 1. All I.G.F.A. rules will apply. 2. Eligible fish are: Speckled Trout, Redfish and Flounder. No trout over 25” will be weighed. 3. All contestants must have current and appropriate fishing licenses in accordance with State Regulations and all fish must conform to State and Federal fishing laws. A saltwater stamp is required. Oversized Redfish are not eligible. 4. Any fisherman found to have violated any rule of the tournament or any State and Federal fishing rules or regulations will be disqualified from any and all awards or prizes for the entire tournament. 5. No fish will be accepted for judging from a non-registered contestant. Fisherman must show proof of registration (wristband) at weigh in. 6. All fishermen in each boat must be registered fishermen in the tournament. Wade fishing is allowed if waders are within sight of the boat. No fishing from docks or other structures. 7. All fish must be caught on a rod and reel only: any fish which is gutted, mutilated or otherwise altered from its natural state WILL NOT be accepted. *Note: Each fisherman will be allowed to fish with only one (1) rod and reel in the water at one time. 8. For a fish to be judged, it must be in fresh and edible condition. Frozen fish or suspicious fish will disqualify the fish and the contestant from any prizes, recognition and/or refund from tournament officials. 9. Fish will be weighed ONLY ONE TIME. Fish are weighed in pounds and ounces & measured in 1/8ths. Final determination is that of the Weigh Master. Anglers will be required to sign weight card verifying information entered by an AMIkids RGV Official. Wrist bands issued at registration must be worn for weigh in and also for your lunch at Parrot Eyes. 10. All fish may be gutted or held at the request of the judge, official or weigh master for further examination or display after being weighed and charted by official. 11. All weighed fish will be marked by the weigh master by punching fin, tail and/or removal of fin. (Weigh Master’s choice.) 12. In the event of a tie, for the largest Redfish, Trout and Flounder, the longest fish of that species shall be the winner. “IF THERE IS STILL A TIE, THE FIRST FISH WEIGHED IN WILL BE THE WINNER”. 13. A fish will qualify only if it has been caught between daybreak and 4:00 PM Saturday, April 23, 2016. 14. On April 23, 2015, contestants must be in line at the weigh in station by 4:00 PM. NO EXCEPTIONS! ! ! 15. Legal Boundaries: All fish must be caught in the waters of the Laguna Madre. NO GULF FISHING ! ! ! 16. The official Headquarters and Weigh Station will be at Parrot Eyes Restaurant Marina, South Padre Island. 17. Registrations fees are not refundable and AMIKids RGV reserves the right to refuse participation to fishermen who have been previously disqualified from fishing tournaments. 18. LIABILITY: In the 30th Annual AMIkids RGV Fishing Tournament, individuals enter at their own risk. AMIkids RGV, its members, judges, officials, committee members and any and all persons directly or indirectly connected with the operation of the tournament are exempt from liability for loss, damage, negligence, harm and injury suffered by ay participant, entrant, sport fisherman, his/her companions, which may occur during the tournament or in going to or coming from the tournament. 19. BAD WEATHER: Tournament date will be moved if bad weather conditions exist on the day of the tournament.
