1 DISPOSAL OF MUNICIPAL WASTE
The blue containers for disposal of municipal waste (combustible) can contain:
Litter bags from offices, coffee filters, paper napkins, leftovers, cans, plastic strings, binders, lined
envelopes, ordinary books, clothing, milk cartons, pizza boxes, ordinary light bulbs etc.
Municipal waste (combustible) cannot contain:
Objects larger than 1 x 1 x 0,2 m. Porcelain, low-energy bulbs, strip lights, iron, concrete, paper,
cardboard, glass, packaging material such as flamingo and polyester filling, wires, paint buckets, spray
cans, Rockwool, PVC, asbestos, impregnated wood, electric equipment or other non-combustible
material.
2 PAPER WASTE
No bags for paper waste must be used. Please place waste directly in the containers.
Green/black containers for paper can contain:
Ordinary paper from offices, note/printing/fax/copy paper, ordinary envelopes, magazines,
newspapers, journals, phone books, separating sheets made of cardboard and all types of paper clips
and shredded paper in transparent plastic bags.
Green/black containers for paper cannot contain:
Cardboard, gift paper, lined envelopes, ordinary books, brown packaging paper, paper napkins, plastic
pockets, binders, packaging material, plastic binders, parchment paper or milk cartons.
Paper containers must be placed in ground or street level for the waste collectors no later than
7.30 on the day of collection.
3 CARDBOARD WASTE
Cardboard boxes must be emptied and compacted.
Green containers for cardboard can contain:
All types of cardboard, cardboard boxes, corrugated cardboard and brown packaging paper.
Green containers for cardboard cannot contain:
Paper, books, binders, packaging materials, non-compacted cardboard boxes, plastics, flamingo,
parchment paper, pizza boxes, paint buckets or other objects that are not made of pure cardboard.
Paper containers must be placed in ground or street level for the waste collectors no later than
7.30 on the day of collection.

4 PACKAGING MATERIALS
Racks for plastic bags can only contain:
Flamingo and polyester filling.
Racks for plastic bags cannot contain:
Cardboard, paper, PVC or other combustible material.

5 IRON AND METAL WASTE
Brown containers can contain:
Small iron parts, metals and wires that fit into the container.
Brown containers cannot contain:
Glass, light bulbs, tin cans, porcelain, concrete, paper, cardboard, machines/parts containing oil.
6 GLASS WASTE
Yellow containers can contain:
Ordinary glass/bottles from the household, empty cleaned acid/base bottles. Bottles from organic
solvents (evaporated in fume cupboard). Other uncontaminated and emptied glass from chemical use
in all colours.
Yellow containers cannot contain:
Wine bottles, bottles having contained contaminants/heavy metals. Acid/base bottles and bottles
containing organic solvents, which have not been rinsed and evaporated. Pyrex glass, mirrors, plan
glass, porcelain, ceramics, hardened/laminated glass, low-energy bulbs, strip lights, ordinary light
bulbs and car windows.
7 WINE AND LIQUER BOTTLES
Must be placed in the waste room’s reddish-brown boxes for bottles.
8 STRIP LIGHTS AND LOW-ENERGY BULBS
Must be returned to El & Data when collecting new ones. Alternatively, these must be packed in the
cardboard packaging in which they were originally delivered and placed in the waste rooms.
9 TONER AND INK CARTRIDGES
All types of toner and ink cartridges must be gathered and will be collected upon request.
10 WASTE FROM ELECTRONICS (EE)
Defined as follows:
Hard disks, keyboards, printers, faxes, photocopiers, mobile phones/ordinary phones, radios, videos,
household electronics (microwave etc.), circular saws, drills etc.
Waste from electronics cannot contain:
Computer screens (monitors), TVs, refrigerators, cookers, freezers and waste from electronics
containing batteries, CDs or floppy disks.

11 COMPUTER SCREEN WASTE
Defined as follows:
Computer screens, TVs and other equipment with screens/picture tubes.
Computer screen waste cannot contain:
CDs, hard disks, floppy disks, printers, faxes, photocopiers, mobile phones/ordinary phones etc.
12 HEAVY IRONS AND METAL WASTE
Defined as follows:
Cookers, freezers, refrigerators, small and large machines and other large electronic equipment.
Must be placed on pallets at a main entrance in ground or street level and will be collected
upon request.
Heavy iron and metal waste cannot contain:
Unless otherwise agreed, machines/parts containing oil or other types of liquid, computer equipment
and waste from electronics.
13 CONCRETE/LARGER SAMPLES OF SAND, SOIL, GRAVEL ETC.
Black 120 L containers and green tilt containers can contain:
Uncontaminated concrete and casting samples, sand, soil, gravel etc.
Liquid materials must be disposed of in the 120 L containers and these must be provided with a
plastic bag. Will be collected upon request.
Black 120 L containers and green tilt containers cannot contain:
Contaminated soil, asbestos, asphalt, plaster, glass, Rockwool, roofing felt, PVC and other waste
unless this has been agreed with the janitor.
Tilt containers cannot contain liquids.
14 PVC
All types of PVC must be gathered and will be collected upon request.
15 BLACK BUCKETS FOR BROKEN GLASS – CHEMISTRY ONLY
Black buckets can contain:
Broken glass, Pyrex glass/hardened glass, other types of uncontaminated glass/ceramics and
porcelain.
Black buckets cannot contain:
Wine bottles, bottles/glass with any kind of residues or slops, light bulbs, strip lights, plan/laminated
glass, mirrors and car windows.

16 CHEMICAL WASTE FOR DISPOSAL THROUGH KOMMUNE KEMI
Defined as follows:
All types of chemicals and chemical waste in glasses, bottles or other containers.
Broken glass, glass pipette tips etc. which cannot be cleaned.
Packaging from ecologically harmful, poisonous and very poisonous substances.
Contaminated soil.
All types of chemical waste must be packed in ADR/RID-approved containers and placed on pallets.
Declaration and documents of transportation must be completed prior to requesting collection.
17 BATTERIES
All types of batteries must be gathered and will be collected upon request.
18 CLINICAL WASTE (hospital waste)
Waste in this category must be placed in the locked green containers with yellow plastic bags located
outside buildings: 113, 208, 221, 222, 224, 227, 301, 344 and 375.
Needles must be placed in needle boxes prior to placing in the container for clinical waste.
19 RADIOACTIVE WASTE IS NOT CHEMICAL WASTE
The institutes will handle their own packing, labelling and transport to Forskningscenter Risø.
GUIDE
Points 1-9 of this guide is included in the rent.
Points 10-19 plus packaging for chemical purposes, recycling boxes for offices etc. will be invoiced as
per consumption.
Collection of large amounts of paper, cardboard, iron, glass and other material (point 1-9) will take
place separately as per agreement and will be invoiced accordingly.
Please feel free to request a price list for packaging materials and services from Park & Vej.
When emptying and cleaning, waste must be sorted into the appropriate categories.
Consequently, you should order extra containers for this purpose. Please request price list
accordingly.

WASTE COLLECTION DAYS
Cardboard is only collected Tuesdays
Paper is collected Thursdays.
Municipal waste is collected Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays or as needed. Times of collection
may be requested at ext. 1354.
Glass, iron, wine bottles and strip lights will be collected once or twice a month or as per agreement.
Reservation is made for breakdown of cars.
HEAVY WASTE (POINTS 1-15) WHICH LESEES WISH TO DISPOSE OF THEMSELVES; please
request price list.
