Homework: Research task next lesson Find out the religious make up of your area. Due: Starter Task: Match the symbol to the religion and write out at least one thing you know about this religion. Hinduism Judaism Buddhism Christianity Islam Sikhism Name: Homework Find out the religious make up of people in your local area (within 3 mile radius). Do not assume that you know what religion people are. A good way of finding out is to use the internet http://localstats.co.uk/ or you could look around where you live and make a note of how many different religious buildings there are. Read through the information and make some notes in your book about that religion. • Split the task between you e.g. one person could make a note about the religious beliefs and another person could make a note on the history of the religion. (you have five minutes to complete this activity) • You must then move around the room and read the information about the other religions how are they similar? How are they different. Explain what interfaith week is and why it is important to our school community. Explain what you would like to happen during interfaith week and suggest how you would implement this. (Grade 8 - 9)
