BOSTON (November, 7 2008)—In recognition of all the military personnel who have served and sacrificed for our country, Boston Duck Tours, Boston Harbor Cruises, Fenway Park Tours, The Freedom Trail Foundation and 5 W!TS-TOMB are offering free tours and admission to veterans and active military personnel during the week of Veterans Day, November 10 through 14. The JFK Library is offering free admission to Veterans November 8-11th and the Museum of Science is offering free admission to Veterans on November 11th and always offers free admission to active military. "All someone has to do at one of these attractions is show some proof of service," says Boston Duck Tours General Manager, Cindy Brown. "That proof can be a military ID, your discharge papers, a membership card in a veteran's organization, medals, ribbons, we'll even accept signed or oral statements from a former superior officer. Our goal is to make people from every service feel welcomed and, in our own way, to say thanks to them for their sacrifices." “What better place to celebrate Veterans Day and the country’s military personnel than at Boston’s Freedom Trail, the place where the country’s first soldiers took up the defense of the young nation,” said Mimi La Camera, president of the Freedom Trail Foundation. “These 18th century men (and a few women) also left hearth and home to do the right thing for all of us. We celebrate the 233 years of America’s military traditions at the spot where it all began. “ “5 Wits, Inc. is proud to offer free admission for active or retired military personnel and up to 3 of their family members for the week of Nov. 10th through the 14th,” said Lucas Neily, General Manager of 5 Wits, Inc. “It’s our way of saying thank you for their courage, bravery and sacrifices”. Military personnel including veterans of the armed forces, active duty personnel, reserves, national guard and dependents of armed forces personnel that are currently serving overseas will be entertained by Boston Duck Tour ConDUCKtors, Boston Harbor Cruise Captains, Freedom Trail actors and TOMB guides.
