Independence Day, observed annually on 15 August
commemorates our nation’s independence from the

Nehru, who had become the first Prime Minister of India
that day, raised the Indian National Flag above the Lahori
Gate of the Red Fort in Delhi.
World Photography Day is a worldwide celebration
of photography. It originates from the invention of
Daguerreotype, a photographic process developed by Joseph
Nicèphore Nièpce and Louis Daguerre in 1837. Korske Ara,
a passionate photographer from Australia launched the World
Photo Day Project in 2009 and one year later on 19 August
