Adena: Moundbuilders Discussion Questions
1. What do you think life was like for the Adena Indians?
Do you think they lived the same way we do? If so, how?
2. Why do you think the Adena buried artifacts such as
pipes, jewelry and stone ornaments with their loved
ones inside mounds?
3. Were the Adena tribes found all across the United States or were they centralized to one region? Think about how people live today. Do we move all over the
U.S or do we seem to stay in one area?
4. The Adena Indians ate things like deer, elk, berries and nuts. Is this the same
type of food that we eat today? Also, what if we gave the Native Americans the
chance to eat other foods that we eat. What would you feed them?
5. If you had the chance to go back in time and live a day as an Adena Indian describe what your day would be like. Do you think you would enjoy it? Do you think
they would like to live in our world today?
