8th Annual Aurora Theatre Charity Golf Tournament
Dear Business Leader:
As Aurora Theatre embarks on our 20th Anniversary Season, we reflect on reaching this huge
milestone. We look to our future with excitement creating new opportunities that will expand our
footprint. We celebrate soaring membership, record box office performance, and increased
awareness in all areas of programming.
We are most proud of programs that engage our community, this past season alone Aurora:







Provided educational opportunities to 11,000 students
Entertained 5,694 patrons at Hands on a Hardbody, part of our New Musical Initiative
Set an attendance record with 10,633 tickets sold to Mary Poppins, only to have that
attendance record broken by the remount of Les Misérables with 10,763 tickets sold.
Took our Teatro Aurora show, Mariela in the Desert, to Los Angeles, California to
participate in Encuentro 2014 – a month-long festival
Produced the first ever Georgia Gwinnett College student production – Shakespeare’s A
Midsummer Night’s Dream
Developed a series of curated discussions that specifically relate to individualized themes
and ideas addressed in our shows called Community Conversations
Welcomed our 4th Apprentice Company, many of whom will be featured in Memphis
Aurora Theatre is Gwinnett County’s largest non-profit performing arts organization and the county’s
only professional theatre. Amazingly, we produce over 650 events each year on only a $1.9 million
budget. We rely heavily on the charity of successful individuals and corporations since the ticket
sales of our 70,000+ annual visitors only account for half our budget.
