Dwayne graduated from Oklahoma State University and the Graduate School of Banking, University of Colorado. Dwayne and Shari moved to Kansas after college to accept a position teaching Vocational Agriculture and FFA Advisor at Miltonvale, Kansas. Two years later he accepted a loan officer position with The Bennington State Bank. “I remember when I started at BSB, the bank had total assets of approximately $6 Million with a lending limit of less than $45,000.00.” “I never thought I would see as many changes in banking over my 45 year span as there have been. It has been a rewarding experience to watch the bank grow and expand to the different locations. I have had the opportunity to work with the best customers anyone could hope for. BSB grew its reputation as an agricultural lender, which enabled us to grow the loans at Bennington.” Dwayne was elected to the Board of Directors in 1977 and the Secretary of the Board in 1992, having served in both capacities until 2015. In addition, Dwayne served as the Chairman of the KBA Ag Division and served on teaching staff of Dr. David Kohl at the Kansas-Nebraska Ag Lending School. cont. page 3 BSB Minneapolis employees serve breakfast at MinneK. They have two grown sons, Chris who lives in Lucas and now helps his Dad with the Leach & Naegele operation and Kiano who lives in Colorado. They have two beautiful grandchildren, A’ris (9) and KeKoa (18 months). Lyn says, “I will miss my customer’s a lot! You are truly their confidant. Small communities and rural areas allow you to really know your customers; you know their needs, their likes and dislikes, sometimes more than you want to know, but it all comes down to great customer service! What I loved about Bennington State Bank, we were not just another BSB employee, we were committed to serve our communities. We were a strong financial team striving for the same goals!” Lyn continues to fill her time with church, Lucas Chamber of Commerce, Lucas Theater and as a youth group director, as well as filling the needs of aging parents.
