Explanation for Increase
12/1/2013 Tammie Parris is being recommended for a promotion
from Administrative Assistant Institutional Effectiveness
(non-exempt) to the position of Workforce Training
Coordinator in Continuing Education (exempt). Ms. Parris
has worked at CFCC for 6 1/2 years with over five years of
experience working in Continuing Education. While
working in Continuing Education she was instrumental in
starting up many new programs. She is familiar with the
processes and paperwork and will not need much training
in her new position. Ms. Parris has demonstrated initiative
and ability to help sell new training ideas to local
businesses and organizations. She has a Associates
degree and is current working on completion of her
Bachelors degree.

out of the R/V Dan Moore, Mr. Bell will be taking
responsibility for a ship that is 2.5 times the size of the
Dan Moore. The Hatteras will have twice the number of
main engines, twice the horsepower, three times the
electrical capacity, seven separate HVAC systems, four
refrigerator/freezer systems, and a large marine sanitation
device. Recent salary comparisons with other similar sized
ships used for educational purposes indicate a need for a
salary adjustment. Chief Engineer Bell has the major
responsibility for analyzing, troubleshooting, repairing and
maintaining this large thirty-two year old ship.
