nspire Youth Conference
is a weeklong camp on
the campus of Faulkner
University. The dates are July
9th- 14th and the cost is $150.
The theme for the 2016 Inspire Youth Conference is
"iStand." Every other year the
theme usually goes back and
forth between the Old Testament to the New Testament.
This year’s theme will really
get challenging. The main focus of our worship, classes,
and devotionals will be our
decision to either Stand Firm
or to fall. The real question is,
where do "iStand?" 

Bible Hour Begins! - Summer has arrived and two new ministries with it. First, Children’s Bible Hour will relaunch tonight at
our evening service. Special thanks to Philip and Peyton for
helping get the necessary structure in place to put this ministry on a solid footing. They have selected and prepared teaching materials that are both edifying and easy to use (Philip says
if you can read you can teach this curriculum). They also organized a rotation of teachers to make the workload sustainable.
If you would like to help our children grow spiritually, Philip
can find a spot for you that will fit with your schedule (monthly or quarterly). Can you
say with Jesus, “Let the little children come to me” (Matthew 19.14)?
Home Groups Begin! - Following service tonight, Growth Group One will meet in
Home Groups for fellowship and deeper study of God’s Word. Home Groups are
merely sub-groups of Growth Groups. The larger group is divided by 4 so the cells are
small enough to meet in homes where people can get to know each other better.
Your Home Group host has been provided with a discussion guide based on tonight’s
lesson so you can apply the sermon in practical ways. Growth Group meetings are
about service. Home Group meetings are about study: Not lecture but dialogue to
deepen your understanding and increase your application of Jesus’ teachings. I urge
you to support your Home Group during the month of June. To grow larger we must
first get smaller to get closer and stronger.
To grow larger we must first get smaller.

M
y last article for the bulletin was about what
I pray for you to know and have as Christians
in the Lord’s church, while living in a broken
world. The peace and comfort we receive in trials because we understand God’s love is not from this world. If
we begin to see the fullness of God’s love for us, how we
view the world, it’s trials, and the people we come in contact with, our view will be different than the world’s view
of things. This can be a way of attracting others to Christ.
Many will look at us and want what we have, because we
live in this world but are not of this world. We live in
heavenly places.
Read Ephesians 6:10-15 . . . against the spiritual forces of
evil in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the whole
armor of God . . . having put on the readiness given by the
gospel of peace.
The forces of evil and illusions put forth to draw us away
from Christ come from the prince of this world. There is a
spiritual battle raging. Being passive for us is not an option. Satan will win. The foundation of victory is Christ!
Those of us that know Christ, have different thinking,
different motives, and different actions. How we treat
each other is mentioned over and over in the New Testa-
ment as a measure of our love for God. We especially
show our differences from the world when we are in conflict with others. Our behavior on a daily basis is different
than the behavior of people of the world.
Read Ephesians 2:4-8 . . . made us sit together in the
heavenly places in Christ Jesus . . . it is the gift of God.
What Are Growth Groups? Clark Johnson
I
am the Deacon in charge of Growth Groups here at
Peachtree City Church of Christ. My wife Ashley and
our children, Isabelle and Brennen, have attended
Peachtree City since August of
2011.
Growth Groups consists of families
who meet on a regular basis for the
purpose of growing their personal
relationship with Christ, building
personal relationships with fellow
Christians, spreading the gospel,
and developing their ability to serve
and minister to the community. The annual goal of each
growth group is to perform two service projects: one that
is community focused and one that is internally focused.
Growth Groups are encouraged to meet at least quarterly
for fellowship, devotionals, and prayer. Families also
attend Ashley Glen, visit members, prepare meals, and
send cards.
Remember that during the month of June we will have
our first home group activity.
Please make plans to attend
these!
“For even the Son of Man
came not to be served but to
serve, and to give his life as a
ransom for many.” (Mark
10:45)
“For I was hungry and you
gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a
stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you
clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison
and you came to me.” (Mathew 25:35-36) 

Therefore, my prayer for you is to let the understanding
of the love God has for you, change you. I want you to
understand what it means to be a part of the church, and
dwell next to Christ.
BEHAVIOR CHALLENGE: Here is a simple way we can see
changes in heavenly places with respect to daily behavior. Take one person that you do not like, have a struggle
with, resent, or have negative feelings about, and pray
specifically for that person every night for 2 weeks. (If
you skip a day you must start over with Day 1.) Pray that
this person benefits from God’s love. Pray that this person gets what you wish you had. This may sound silly or
too simple, but I have practiced this for many years and
know the results. You will begin to see this person from a
spiritual perspective you have not seen before. Your resentment will fade away. You will see the power of living
in heavenly places. 
