NANAIMO NORTH TOWN CENTRE FALL 2013

VANCOUVER, BC – Shape Properties Corp. is excited to announce that Canadian Tire will be joining Nanaimo
North Town Centre.
The well-known Canadian retail and service brand will commence construction at the Nanaimo North Town
Centre location in early Spring 2013 with plans to open in Fall 2013. Occupying 123,000 square feet with over
72,000 sf of new retail space this will be Canadian Tire’s largest location on Vancouver Island.
“We are excited to be part of the development of Nanaimo North Town Centre,” said Clint Elenko, Associate Vice
President of Canadian Tire. “This new store will allow us to better serve the Nanaimo community and provide an
exciting new shopping experience for customers on Vancouver Island.”
The new Nanaimo North location will include a Canadian Tire Auto Service Centre featuring 17 service bays as
well as a Canadian Tire Garden Centre with 16,000 square feet of live goods and seasonal products. The
construction of Canadian Tire will change the layout of the north end of the shopping centre site, including
additional parking and a new entrance off Oliver Road that will provide convenient access.
Shape Properties acquired Nanaimo North Town Centre in 2006 and, since that time, the shopping centre has
undergone various upgrades, the most significant to date being the addition of London Drugs, Fairway Market
and recently Tim Horton’s which opened their busy doors last month. “We are excited to be opening a
comprehensive new Canadian Tire for Nanaimo residents,” commented Fay Laing, Vancouver Island General
Manager for Shape Property Management. “It’s exciting to see our vision for the shopping experience in Nanaimo
take shape,” Laing added.
Additional retail developments for Nanaimo North Town Centre will be announced in the near future including
details surrounding US based superstore, Target opening in Spring 2013.
