“The Cask of Amontillado”

Edgar Allan Poe has been at it again. This
time he’s been charged with “attempting to evoke
suspense and fear in his audience” by infusing his
writing with powerful, vivid words and phrases.
You are the prosecuting attorney and must create an exhibit to prove to the
jury that he is, in fact, guilty as charged.
As you re-read “The Cask of Amontillado,” record at least seven (7) words
and phrases that create a mood of suspense and fear. Then create an exhibit
(poster, Prezi, collage, etc.) that illustrates these words/phrases with relevant
images that you could present to a jury to demonstrate that Poe intentionally
created a mood of suspense and fear. This is a quiz grade. You may work in a group
of up to three people.
