Any future tokens would be purchased at the new fare. Before, I put in a dollar in a machine and got two tokens. Will I get change back? Yes. Under the $.75 fare, the machine would dispense one token and one quarter (see table). The $.35 half‐fare token can be purchased at the DTC Administrative Office; seniors and disabled patrons must provide valid proof of age and residency. You can also purchase a monthly pass at for $5 or an annual pass for $50. However, unless you purchase the special half‐fare token, you will pay standard fare. Senior residents of Detroit, Hamtramck and Highland Park will now be charged $10 for their 2012 DPM pass. The current one can still be used until the end of the year – do not place extra funds in the turnstyle. How much does a People Mover Pass cost? There are two types of passes: The Monthly Pass for $10.00, where you can ride as many times as you like from the first through the last day of the month; and the Annual Pass for $100.00, active from January 1 through December 31 of each year. These are not stored value cards and there is no price increase for these passes. Will I be able to buy a transfer from DDOT or SMART to ride the People Mover? Unfortunately, at this point, there is no mechanism for transfers. Our fare policy and equipment only allows for the additional half‐fare for seniors and patrons with disabilities. The Fast Pass would offer greater value, or customers may purchase tokens individually. I purchase Passes regularly. What happens to my subscription? Your Pass subscription should continue just as you ordered. There is no price increase planned for the Monthly and Annual Passes.
