PRESIDENT’S REPORT
It has been a great season for the Colts both on and off field.
Congratulations to Darren and Brendan and the U11’s Premiers back to back after their success
last season in the U10’s. Well done to all the players.
We also had grand finalist in the U13’s but unfortunately they went down in the final but did
their club, coach and parents proud.
Of the other teams we had semi-finalists in the U16s and 2nd grade who both bowed out a short
of the big one.
All these results can only be achieved by the hard work of the coaches and managers who give
their time to their teams to ensure all the players have fun and develop as cricketers. A big
thank you goes to all our coaches, managers and parents for supporting their teams in the right
spirit that makes us the best Club.
I would also like to thank our Captains a number of who were new to the role and found out
that it is a tough job not just on the field but off the field as well.
Off the field the committee has and continues to work hard to ensure the success of the club.
Without singling out everyone I would like to make special mention of a few Belinda taking on
the role of Club Secretary doing both the junior and senior parts, Marlene for her role as
Treasurer keeping a tight rein of our finances, Alex for his work and support which is hugely
valuable to me.
It was great to see a few new faces join the committee as well this year in Tracey (Webmaster),
Brendan (Sponsorship), Jake and Aayush (Committee).
Well done to those players who represented PJCA this year. Congratulations to Ashley Day for
representing NSW, Kobe Carroll - Green Shield, Metro Cup, and graded with Sydney Uni,
Brandon Speechley - Green Shield and Metro Cup with Penrith, Justin Felsch - Green Shield, Tim
Creer Cup and graded with Sydney, he also played U14 State Challenge Cup, Dylan Ferguson
Metro Cup Sydney Uni and Blake Wicks U14 State Challenge Cup. It’s great to see players from
our club playing at higher levels.
District Awards
I would like to congratulate the following players for winning District awards this season.

 Michael George – 6th Grade Batting Aggregate

 Bailey Bedford – Under 11 Bowling Aggregate
Sponsors
Once again the St Marys RSL and Ex Servicemens Club was our major sponsor this year and we

year and went out and was able to secure the club new sponsors in 2014/15 which we hope will
become ongoing sponsors for the coming years, welcome on board your support is greatly

SEASON 2014/15
2nd GRADE
The year began with us expected to play 1st grade, so it was a nice surprise to find out we were
to stay in 2nd grade due to some kicking and screaming from other sides.
The competition was definitely ours to lose and confidence was never an issue. We started the
year great, however our team batting efforts throughout the year lacked consistency which
ultimately saw our side knocked out prematurely in the semi-finals.
Again our bowlers performed fantastically throughout the year, and as a captain it is nice to
have so many top fast bowlers to choose from.
We remain determined to win the second grade competition in the upcoming season however
everyone will have to work on consistency in their batting.
Notable mentions from last season include Grant Bradley’s first century for the club against
Cranebrook who went on to play in the final, David Dunn’s 7 wickets against our rivals St Clair
Hawks, followed by a 6 wicket haul against Glenmore Park Black.

3rd GRADE
This year just wasn’t our year with our only win chalked up in round 1. While we were
competitive in most of our games this season, we did struggle to finish on the right side after
our bright start.
We have come to the realisation we are getting old. We having been together now for the last
10 years and the majority of the players are approaching or already a few years past 40.
It was great having the few young guys in Brandon G, Jack, Nick and Brandon S playing fulltime
this year especially having Jack & Brandon S return to the club after a couple years off.
We will be back next year hopefully dropping down a grade or two cause while we may be
getting older we still enjoy our game of cricket, the banter on the field and the laughs and
beers after it.
Thanks to the players who helped out in 3rd game this year it was greatly appreciated.

4th GRADE
This year didn’t go as well as we thought it would!
We started playing cricket as a group of mates two years ago in 6th grade and we were playing
good cricket and had one of our players regarded (Bev Salter)
To 4th grade so we as a team decided to give it a crack and go up as a team. We only started
playing for a bit of fun as a group of mates so we all wanted to stick together (what a mistake
that was) ha-ha
Nothing better than playing cricket with your mates on a the weekend, its always a good laugh.
This year we won just one game, but ironically the team we beat won our grade. We were very
unlucky this year not to win a few more games, one in particular I remember was a two dayer
against Penrith RSL we had won the toss and chose to bat, we set a decent total of 240 or so
runs.
We came back next week pumped up and had them 7 for 140 well into the tail, then mother
nature struck and the rain came down. We ended up losing on count back because we had a
slow start when batting! Talk about getting ripped off!
Although results didn’t go our way this year, we still rocked up week in and week out and tried
our best! We will be back next year bigger and better I am sure.
We learnt a lot this year and it will help us to be a better team in years to come.

5th GRADE
For fifth-grade this season as far as wins and losses go it was a poor one, but it's not always about winning and
losing, sometimes it is just great fun being out there with our kids and getting to play the game we love so much.
In most of our games we were really competitive, pushing the top teams right to the end and nearly coming away
with a couple of great wins.
We had some great performances this season, such as Justin Felsch and Brendon Speechley figuring in an opening
partnership of 149 against an attack that had the leading wicket taker for the season.
We had Dylan and Alex with the fiery opening spells getting a team off to great starts and Matt and Brendan backing
them up first change, I would like to pay particular mention to Matt for his tireless efforts, he had so many catches
drop of his bowling and should've ended up with a lot more wickets.
It was fantastic to have most of the boys back this season and also be joined by newcomers Brendan, Matt, Jason
and Joel who fit into the team perfectly.
I would like to thank of all the boys for their efforts this season. It has been absolute pleasure playing cricket with
you all and I couldn't think of a better bunch of guys to have a beer with after a game of cricket.
For some of us it was probably the last chance we get to play with our kids as they'll be moving off onto bigger and
better things with some of them already playing grade cricket. I wish you boys all the best for the future and
hopefully someday down the track we will get to play again.

7th GRADE
This season saw a few newbies join our team being Brad, Pfitz, Paulie Coz and Michael. We had an aright season running 6th
we had a few games that got away but that’s cricket but once again it was about fun fitness and mateship over a few beers and
bets although we did have a few competitive moments.
We had the Pfitz blitz it in the bowling and being highest run scorer, Cos getting a big 103 not out, Dave getting a nice 5/47 and
being handy with his bat, there was many great moments and some not so great like when we had Erskine Park all out for 46
and cruising only to be 7 for 10 with 2 batsman to go and lucky for Coz and Matty Thomo they dug in and won the game, not
our finest hour.
The young blokes Matty and Ryan stepped it up again playing almost every game with Ryan getting an awesome 6/21 off 7. A
big thanks to Loges for filling in when we needed you.
All in all win lose or draw we had fun lots of laughs and banter and to us that is what it is all about.
Yours in cricket

9th GRADE
As always I have enjoyed my cricket season with a team full of character and laughs.
Unfortunately despite winning the first two games, our season wasn’t a great success on the field. Work
commitments and injuries took over and even with a team effort, we couldn’t catch another win until round 12.
Round 12, with the help of 5th grade players, put the team back on the winning side of the game.
Round 13, played against the team coming 2nd ,was a close game but unfortunately a loss to our team.
Round 14 the team lifted again and showed they were winners, beating the team who went on to play in the finals.
A great effort and game played by all.
I would like to thank all the players who filled in during the season. Much appreciated.
A big thanks to my team for the efforts throughout the season, keeping my on my toes and enjoying a good game of
cricket.
See you next season!

What an awesome bunch of kids!
We had a fantastic season over all with some wins and some losses, but that never dulled the enthusiasm or effort each player put in. The
team started the season with only 7 players, until we were lucky enough for Ryan to join us.
A huge thank you to Darren for coaching this year, although coaching the Under 9’s was not his original plan, the team was lucky to have
you share your knowledge and skills with them.
Joshua McGeorge- Joshua showed his talent with both the bat and ball, a little more consistency with the ball will see him take more
wickets.
Hunter Smith- The little pocket rocket, his fast pace between the wickets allowed him to score runs and wear his team mates out at the
other end.
Darren Whiting- Showed his consistency with the ball taking several wickets. With a little more practise his batting will improve and will
score more runs.
Ryan Lamont- Ryan joined the team late and proved to be a good little cricketer and his persistency paid off with some runs and a few
wickets. Ryan took the only catch all season.
Benjamin McCormick- As the season progressed his batting improved greatly, a little more practise running in those pads will improve his
speed between the wickets.
Benjamin Kunach- An enthusiastic cricketer, saw his bowling improve as the season continued, with a little more practice on line and
length, his bowling will lead to more wickets.
Zoe Moore- The only girl in the team, Zoe is a keen cricketer and an outstanding fielder, getting several direct hits causing run outs.
Jeremy Archer- As the season progressed Jeremy improved with the bat and ball, a little more consistency will see him score more runs and
take more wickets.
Thank you to the parents for encouraging the children each week, not just your own child but every player on the team. It is great to be
involved with a team that not only has fantastic kids but parents that are there each week supporting the whole team.
A special thank you to Rob who umpired many games and Nathan who also umpired allowing Darren to coach the kids on the field. Thank
you also to Scott for scoring when I couldn’t.

UNDER 11s
Our young cricket team has truly excelled again, taking out Premiership honours for the second consecutive season. The boy’s
commitment to training was fantastic and these young lads are very keen to learn, listen and grow in their chosen sport.
Our team wasn’t the strongest individually but as a team we had a great mix of specialty players that eventually would gel
together to become the premiers of the 2014/15 season.
Our first semi final was against Glenmore Park and we held them to 76 off 36.1 overs. Our bowling and fielding was excellent
and this gave our top order a very achievable target. The boys managed to reach the target off 26 overs.
The final was against Glenbrook Blaxland; this was always going to be a very difficult assignment. All our previous games were
very close with both teams having their fair share of victories. Glenbrook Blaxland batted first setting a target of 7/133 off 39
0vers. Our openers did a great job adding 47 before we lost our first wicket. After the first wicket fell it was a steady run chase
eventually eclipsing Glenbrook Blaxland’s total with 2 overs to spare, 6/134.
Special thanks to Nathan Luck for scoring the majority of the season, Nathan never refused to score when asked and we thank
him very much for his efforts. Also many thanks to all the parents for filling in to score when asked and for your cooperation
throughout the season.
Brendan and I chose to co-coach the team again this season and this partnership flowed smoothly all season assisting and
steering the players in a positive direction. Brendan and I would like to pay special thanks to Tracey our manager; Tracey is a
valuable asset to our team environment and contributed many hours of her time to ensure the smooth running of our team for
the entire season.
Liam Aaron
Liam started the season with a blaze. His first innings with the bat he retired not out on 35 with 6 fours. It was one to
remember. His effort in the field was always enthusiastic giving 100%. Liam was involved in 3 assisted run outs, 5 wickets, 3
unassisted run outs, 4 catches, 1 stumping and 150 with the bat.
Bailey Bedford
Bailey had a marvellous year with the bat and ball. His stroke play with the bat grew as the season progressed, scoring 180
with the bat. His excellent fast bowling was rewarded this year with 20 wickets and at times was unplayable. His best was 2
overs 1 maiden 3/1. He was keen and energetic in the field taking 5 catches.
Samuel Brown-Mead
Sam has come a long way from our first training session, and is by far our most improved bowler. His confidence has grown,
reflecting in 10 wickets in the last 4 games, with best figures of 4/8 and a season total of 17 wickets. He took 6 catches and 3
run out assists and 56 with the bat.
Jamie Byrnes
Jamie’s all-round skills had him in everything, always consistent with the bat and scoring a season total of 182. His fast bowling
with good line length bagged him 15 wickets. His best was 3/2. He took 8 catches, 4 assisted run outs and 1 unassisted run out.
He took one very memorable full stretch diving catch.
Bryce Fenn
Bryce is a fabulous cricketer with the enthusiasm to lift the team when needed. His athletic fielding and quick hands earned
him 7 catches, 4 wicket keeping catches, 1 unassisted run out and 4 assisted run outs. Scoring a total of 167 with the bat, and
a memorable innings of 29 against Glenbrook Blaxland to help secure a win.
Peter Kennedy
Peter left us after 12 rounds, heading for a sea change with his family. He improved immensely in those 12 weeks, with his
fielding and catching becoming a highlight. In his last game while wicket keeping he took a low diving catch. His friendly and
very humorous nature is missed.
Bailey Luck
Bailey had a great year and contributed in all areas of the game. He seemed to find wickets when the team really needed one.
He took 11 wickets with the best being 4/5. His fielding improved all year. He took a screamer in the semi-final at fine leg.
Byron McGeorge
Byron is a great all round cricketer. He offered a lot in the field taking 7 catches, 1 wicket keeping catch, one assisted run out
and one unassisted run out. His bowling is always tight, with his best figure being 3 overs, 1 maiden, 3/3 with a total of 12
wickets for the season. His batting has evolved this year scoring 161 runs.
Riley McGeorge
Riley has worked hard at his game this year and it reflects in his stats. 158 runs with the bat. 36 retired not out against Penrith
was a highlight. His bowling really improved toward the back end of the season, taking a total of 11 wickets with 2/5 his best.
He took 4 catches and 3 run out assists.
Aiden Nowland
Aiden was our quiet achiever this year. Improving his cricket skills with every game, his humour amongst his team mates
helped with team spirit. With the ball Aiden was one of our top wicket takers, taking wickets in most games. With a season
total of 15 wickets, and a best of 2/8.
Cody Robinson
Cody had an excellent season. He worked hard on his fielding this year taking 7 catches, 1 wicket keeping catch, 2 unassisted
run outs and 4 assisted run outs. His batting was consistent ending the season with 284 runs with the highlight of 37 runs not
out in the semi-final.
Cody Ryan
Cody always seems to love his cricket; he is a hard working player that puts in 100% in every instance. A great highlight was his
17 against Glenbrook with some glorious cover drives. He took 9 wickets, 3 catches and 1 run out assist.
Reegan Wilson
Reegan’s spin bowling was great to watch, he had batsmen looking foolish on most occasions. He took a total of 13 wickets,
best being 2 overs 1 maiden 2/1. In the field he took 4 catches, 2 wicket keeping catches, 2 unassisted run outs and 1 assisted
run out. He was also impressive with the bat, scoring 167 runs, and top scoring in the final with a valuable 26.

UNDER 13s
Let me start by saying how proud I am of the whole team this year we set them a big challenge this year of stepping up an age
group and missing the U12s after their domination from the previous year.
With a mix of the two teams from last year and only two U13 players in our squad of 13, we were a well balanced team where
everyone had their moment to shine.
They are a great bunch of boys with some real characters amongst them who make it enjoyable and a pleasure to coach.
On the field the boys were able to mix it with the older kids in all their matches and we found that it was just the couple of
really good batsmen who in most cases were rep players proved to be the difference from a Div 1 top 4 finish or a Div 2 top 4
finish as our competition was broken into 2 divisions for the semi’s.
So as the season panned out it became evident there were two quality teams and then a group of six teams who were fairly
even, with some strategic coaching decisions throughout the year and the weather helping us out in the last round we were
able to finish top of division 2 (5th overall) which was a great achievement for the boys.
Our semi final provided to be a cliff hanger in every sense of the word and after scoring 263 on day 1 and really should never
have looked like losing we were lucky to come away with a win. But win the boys did as we left how worse fielding and bowling
performance to day 2. The game went right down to the 58th over with dropped catches and missed run outs all the way to the
end, but the boys never gave up and some how found a way to win when Cranebrook were 2/200 with 17 overs to go we were
able to bowl them out for 256 a real nail biter not what the coach wanted to see.
In our grand final the boys gave their all but in the end didn’t give themselves the chance to win and were beaten by a better
team on the day.
I know they will come back bigger and better again next year to make amends for the 2 runners up tags they have now picked
up in the last two years.
A big thanks goes to Mick, Pat and Rowdy for helping with training and scoring, also to the other dads who helped score thank
you. Also to the parents and grandparents who came to support our team of champions thank you.
Alex Clark
Alex the destroyer as we nicknamed him is developing into an impressive off spin bowler taking some big wickets throughout
the season. He is rock solid in defence just has to keep the ball on the deck when going for the big shots. A true character in
the team who the boys loved having around. Scored 21 runs and took 12 wickets
Bailey Coleman
Bailey is a great all round cricketer, his wicket keeper was some of the best in the competition, he played some important
innings this year with the bat, his running between wickets was a feature in forming partnerships and scoring quick runs for the
team. Bailey developed into a useful leg spin bowler this season. He scored 171 runs and took 5 wickets.
Stuart Fairbairn
Stuart is more than a handy batsmen and bowler. His batting was great at times but sometimes went looking for the big shot a
bit too much which would cost him his wicket. Stuart bowls great line and length bowling and he has a great fielder with a
great pair of hands taking some great catches. He scored 43 runs and took 9 wickets.
Lachlan George
Lachlan is an untapped talent, big and strong, he is developing into good fast bowler. His batting improved over the season, he
likes to hit the ball hard and play the big shots, his defence improved throughout the year and he really protected his wicket. In
the field Lachlan has a great pair of hands and there weren’t many chances that got by him. He scored 89 runs and took 8
wickets
Jacob McIlwain
Jacob was one of the best players in the comp this year. He is a classy batsman who notched up his maiden century for the club
this season with 118no. He dominated opposition bowlers with his attacking stroke play, his fast bowling has the potential to
have batters running for cover while sometimes erratic when on song he is unplayable. He scored 468 runs and took 13
wickets
Brenton Mee
Brenton is a big hitting batsman but needs to work on playing straighter. His bowling developed really well this season and he
took wickets for the team at critical times when we needed them. As always his fielding in close was great and not many
chances got passed him. He scored 28 runs and took 12 wickets.
Mitchell Nowland
Mitchell missed a lot of the season with a shoulder injury. He is a batsmen who treasurers his wicket with solid defence, he
took on the job of opening a lot of innings and did a great job. His bowling is a mix of fast and leg spin which had batters
guessing when he landed them in the right spot. Mitchell scored 25 runs and took 3 wickets
Jack Starr
Jack the real character in the team loves a chat especially with me at square leg. He is a classy left handed batsman who had a
great season. He is a handy bowler who can mix it up with pace or spin and is a more than capable fielder at both slip or in the
outfield. He scored 202 runs and took 12 wickets
Jack Sullivan
Jack is a talented cricketer. His bowling this season was very good, he bowled tremendous line and length, and week in week
out was probably the pick of our bowlers. His batting is developing, solid in defence and very quick running between wickets.
He is enthusiastic in the field. Jack scored 81 runs and took 15 wickets
Oscar Sultana
Oscar is the complete cricketer he can bat, bowl and is a tremendous fielder probably the best going around. Oscar’s batting
improved over the season which saw him play a lot more attacking shots while still being rock solid in defence. He bowled
great line and length and was always difficult to score off. He scored 177 runs and took 5 wickets.
Chad Want
C-Dog as his teammates nicknamed him. Chad is a handy cricketer who loves the game. He really worked hard this season on
improving his batting. He played some important innings for the team and took some punishment as well but he always got
back up. Chad’s bowling was good all year and he took some crucial wickets. He scored 24 runs and took 6 wickets
Matthew Whiting
Matty is a real team player and character to have in the team. He continues to improve his batting and bowling and is always
giving 110%. Unfortunately for Matt cause he is a little smaller runs can be hard to come by but he play a great knock with
Starry where they put on 46 for the last wicket to help to team. His bowling improved all year it may have taken nearly all year
to get his wickets and I think the boys were more excited than him. He scored 7 runs and took 3 wickets
Riley Wilson
Our team captain, he was always encouraging his team mates and busy in the field. More a dashing left hander batsman then
his Dad, he was Mister Consistency as well and making a number of important contributions throughout the year and notched
up his first 50 for the club. He mixes up his bowling with pace and leg spin which can be unplayable when he lands them. Riley
scored 286 runs and took 10 wickets
It was a pleasure to coach this group of young players who are stars in the making. I look forward to next year and continuing
the development of the team and going that one step further to finishing the job we started this year.

The season began with the introduction of a couple new players to the team, one who had never played cricket
before but were ready to give there all.
It was always going to be a tough season as we were in a very tough competition, however, it was evident from the
start the team would not let anything stop them from having an enjoyable season.
Honourable mentions for the season include both Logan and Thommo scoring half centuries.
Thanks for the season guys and we hope to see you all back for some of you your last year of Junior cricket.

UNDER 16s
We had a vastly different side in the under 16's this season with Lachlan and Daniel Saywell returning to us, Justin
Felsch moving up from a lower grade and two new additions Brendon Speechley and Clayton Telfer joining us from a
different club. These boys along with our returning players gave us a side on paper that was capable of beating
anyone and in most of our games we did, finishing with 14 wins from our 18 games.
Unfortunately we were knocked out in the semis losing to Glenmore Park, in what was an extremely tight game that
could have gone either way, but they chased us down and got the runs with five balls to spare.
Due to injuries and grade cricket we couldn't always field a full side but the lads always pull together and got the job
done which was fantastic to see.
We had some fantastic highlights throughout the season, with all the boys contributing with the bat and figuring in
some great partnerships, most notably Clayton and Lachlan with 192 for the first wicket against Penrith RSL. It was
great to see three of the boys Jordan, Mitchell and Joel all achieve their highest scores with Jordy getting his first
half century. Without doubt probably the biggest highlight was three of the boys Brendon Speechley, Justin Felsch
and Clayton Telfer all scoring their maiden centuries.
Our Bowling was always of an extremely high standard with all the boys sharing around the wickets, it was
particularly great to watch Dylan and Alex form a great partnership and have some devastating opening spells which
they also carried into seniors. They were followed by some great first change bowlers in Brendon and Lachlan and
also three fantastic spinners in Justin, Joel and Daniel, with Daniel finishing the season as our highest wicket taker.
Our fielding was generally always of a high standard with the occasional lapse that would cause me to remove some
of my hair. Jordy took some great catches in the point/gully region and finished the season with the most catches in
the field. Our three wicket keepers Clayton, Kobe and Alex were always superb behind stumps.
I would like to thank the four boys Dylan, Kobe, Lachlan and Clayton who shared the captaincy this year, they all
done a fantastic job and I couldn't be prouder.
I would like to thank all the parents who help out through the season with scoring. I would also like to give a huge
thanks to David Telfer for helping with coaching, and Craig Ferguson for once again managing and also helping with
coaching the boys.
It has been a really great season and one that was quite emotional for me, having been with the boys for most of
their cricketing careers and this one being their last junior season. These boys are a great bunch of lads and are a
credit to their parents. It has been an absolute pleasure to coach them and I wish them all the best for the future.

Another fun filled year had by all.
I will keep this years report short & sweet.
A big thankyou to all the Mums, Dads & extended families for bringing their kids each week. Also a special
thank you to those that assisted with the activities.
Thanks to Uncle Phil who was there every week to assist with the activities, we were both exhausted at the
end of every session.
Hope to see the young ones back next year & the older ones in our junior sides.
Yours in Cricket
