Gallatin Steel Continues Strong Commitment to Local Area
Gallatin Steel has recently made several donations that demonstrate the company’s on-going
support of local communities. In the past few months, donations to various organizations that
provide services and programs for people in Gallatin, Carroll, Owen and Trimble counties, have
totaled more than $140,000.
A $100,000 donation was made to the Gallatin County Public Library on March 1. Gallatin Steel
is the cornerstone partner for the library’s major building project which will add 2,000 square feet
to the facility.

A $3,000 donation was presented on March 9 to Camp Invention, a week long, hands-on
science camp held each July for students at Kathryn Winn and Cartmell Elementary Schools.
The presentation was made to Gail Becraft, a science teacher at Kathryn Winn who directs
Camp Invention. Says Ms. Becraft, “Gallatin Steel’s donation will make it possible for students in
need, who otherwise couldn’t afford the program’s $75 fee, to participate. This is going to make
a big difference for these students, and we are very grateful.”

On March 15 Gallatin Steel presented a check for $25,000 to the Gallatin County Schools. The
money is being used to help fund several initiatives including the SNAP math recovery system
and new library materials for the Lower Elementary School; math kits and math literature books
for the Upper Elementary School; science lab equipment for Gallatin County Middle School; and
graphing calculators for Gallatin County High School.

Also on March 15, Gallatin Steel received the Ohio Valley United Charities’ Silver Award. The
company recently made a $15,000 donation to the Ohio Valley United Charities. This group
provides funding to organizations
that assist people in need in
Gallatin, Carroll, Owen and
Trimble counties. Said Gallatin
